Trust and vision. There is no clear cut vision for the future, or vision for promoting a fun time. BMMC is the latest example, choosing not to announce intent to try to stay open to May until last week is another.

Kind of my viewpoint, too. I mean, he tried to get you fired ... pretty crazy. Imagine what would have done if BM actually lost his job!
I agree. I'm glad that an appology was issued, that an offer to talk to the boss was offered, and that some one on one meetings with Stormy and Shortski will take place. The potential damage to Bumpmeister was grave, and there was informed intent on Nyberg's part. This is not how you build trust, this is how you lose it for years. A simple "I'm sorry" doesn't rebuild the trust you lost. If Killington wants to improve how they are perceived, it will be through many baby steps, not in one meeting. I'm hoping this is one of those steps.

Does this "small gesture" speak volumes about Nyberg's genuine regret over his asinine, unprofessional behavior, or his genuine regret over the fact that his asinine, unprofessional behavior went public and blew up in his face?
Is next week's meeting occuring because, after two years, PowdrKillington suddenly cares about what a small but vocal group of chat room members have to say, or is it merely a last-minute attempt at damage control and one-on-one placation?
Just askin'...
I agree with this sentiment... no way in hell he ever would have apoligized if he had not been called on it one way or another.... kind of Like Michael Vick apoligizing for the dogfighting after his arrest.... sometimes when something becomes public they suddenly "see the light" and act as if they are really remorseful.
Total BS...
By the way... Sugarloaf has 120 trails open today!

It seems that the vice president of Boyne reads the information on these chat rooms that pertain to their resosts and takes a close look at the suggestions and responds and takes action as required. I feel this goes a long way to building customer trust and loyalty. Perhaps if Tom could chime in now and then, dispel rumors, and keep us up to date and informed, they might see an increase in the bottom line. Positive word of mouth advertising is very effective, and it is free!
Tom used to participate on Kzone but stopped after being repeatedly attacked. It just wasn't worth the frustration. Ive talked with him one on one and via email and he has always tried to answer my questions when he could.
I've done the same and he always answers my questions also. I don't blame him for not posting on KZone anymore. If I was him, I wouldn't either.

I like what Alpine Meadows did, but you know as while as I that if POWDR posted the same exact message for K as AM did they would've still gotten shredded!

I disagree... people would have been dissapointed, but would have at least respected them for the way they presented it.... and this goes for about everything they have said or done. Credibilty goes a long way with a lot of people.

Your probably correct, but maybe it is time the posters on this board started acting there age and not there shoe size when and if K's management comes back and starts posting again on this forum. The jist I am getting is to re open the dialog on this forum with them. I think a lot can be learned on either side of the fence. On other ski boards where management posts, it seems they are treated with respect. We may not agree with what is said, but I feel we can express our views in a more dignified manor and keep an open line of communication which should benefit us all. Now go ahead and flame away if you wish!

You never simply told anyone that you were "sorry" and expected them to believe that you were sincere?
I guess he has to fall on his sword before some people are happy.
Even then I tend to doubt that would please some people here.
The only thing that some people want is for K to allow them to run the place as they ,the whiners and complainers, see fit.
As I've said before, many wanted ASC gone, they got what they wished for.

Respect begets respect.
When Tommy Boy and Maverick Rathbun posted here (under their own names) on a regular basis, both in the "Chatter" and "Ask Killington" forums, their own posts were filled with sarcasm, dishonesty, self-defensive insecurity, flippant non-answers and a surprising lack of regard for the concerns (or the intelligence) of many of the regulars here.
As I've said before, if (for example) Tommy Boy comes back and acts like a human being, I'll be the first person to cut him a break. Otherwise...
