I fully agree, replace the older triple, save the quad which can run on windy days. Does anybody know the age of these two lifts??
From chairlift.org
Snowdon triple 1973
Snowdon quad 1992
South Ridge 1977

All 3 lifts are crapola. They should all be replaced...

So, when are we going to hear the official word on improvements for next year?

Cumming tweeted something about working on it 6 days ago: "Thinking about capital improvements. It always preoccupies me in the spring. 9 locations can eat a lot of coconuts. Going to be interesting." Figure at least a surface lift to the peak is a sure thing. It's a relatively inexpensive early season stop-gap for the next few years. Less sure about a lift for Snowdon, but it seems likely, and obviously snow making improvements. And Cumming/Nyberg may surprise us all. I'd like to see them come out with a coherent master plan for the peak area. New lodge, another lift, trail re-routing, but I doubt that's in the cards.

Wouldn't 9 locations
produce a lot of "coconuts", too?
(For what it's worth, I had no idea that elephants eat coconuts. I learn something new every day...)

Cumming seems to like odd metaphors. Mentioned something about "walking the trap lines" in reference visiting the various resorts. At least he is putting money back into them. Better to be owned by an individual like him, than, say some faceless outfit from Orlando like "CNL Lifestyle Properties".

Yeah. Okemo really seems to be suffering mightily under that new "faceless outfit". Why, I hear it's only a matter of weeks until they go out of business forever.
It's sad, really.
