Re: My phone call with Nyberg
I would like K mgmt to come back and post and have some inteligent Q & A,idea swapping,etc... but there's just enough keyboard insurgents on KZone who could care less about the place that just will not allow it as we saw with the Ask Killington Forum. Started fine and quickly deteriorated. We'll see...Big Bob wrote:boston_e wrote:I disagree... people would have been dissapointed, but would have at least respected them for the way they presented it.... and this goes for about everything they have said or done. Credibilty goes a long way with a lot of people.RENO wrote:I like what Alpine Meadows did, but you know as while as I that if POWDR posted the same exact message for K as AM did they would've still gotten shredded!Big Bob wrote:I think Powdr should take a cue from the president of Alpine Meadows who explained to the customer base why they were closing early. It seems that the vice president of Boyne reads the information on these chat rooms that pertain to their resosts and takes a close look at the suggestions and responds and takes action as required. I feel this goes a long way to building customer trust and loyalty. Perhaps if Tom could chime in now and then, dispel rumors, and keep us up to date and informed, they might see an increase in the bottom line. Positive word of mouth advertising is very effective, and it is free!
Your probably correct, but maybe it is time the posters on this board started acting there age and not there shoe size when and if K's management comes back and starts posting again on this forum. The jist I am getting is to re open the dialog on this forum with them. I think a lot can be learned on either side of the fence. On other ski boards where management posts, it seems they are treated with respect. We may not agree with what is said, but I feel we can express our views in a more dignified manor and keep an open line of communication which should benefit us all. Now go ahead and flame away if you wish!

Don't Killington Pico
Re: My phone call with Nyberg
From http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/reap.html:
Everyone should bookmark this page to use if they are ever confused on which words/phrases to use. When you plant seeds you sow them. Galatians 6:7 says “A man reaps what he sows” (harvests what he plants, gets what he deserves). This agricultural metaphor gets mangled frequently into “you reap what you sew.” At best, you might rip what you sew; but you probably wouldn’t want to tell people about it.
Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, then overwhelm you with their experience.

Re: My phone call with Nyberg
Dunno about 99%. It's no different than any other information source. You have to weigh the bias and agenda of the source every time. With this Chris Nyberg email thing, I thought there was a 90% chance that it was a clever hoax from somebody with an axe to grind with Killington. I'm still pretty blown away that a customer complaint would be met with a response of trying to get the guy fired. That was a really, really, really stoooopid thing to do.SnoBrdr wrote:Kinda like 99% of all the info posted here.Geoff wrote:I read it on the internet so it must be true!
Sort of like "Vermont Liquor Control said no BYOB at BMMC".

Agreed but how dumb is it to use your work email for non work related things.Geoff wrote:Dunno about 99%. It's no different than any other information source. Re: My phone call with Nyberg
Depends on the company, depends on the individual. So much business is conducted via email at all hours of the day, you want your employees at least monitoring their company account 24-7. Likewise, nobody who is successful works a mere 9-5 any more. If you expect people to work long hours, better to allow them to conduct personal business on company time, than to worry about small details. Productivity is the metric by which to measure employees, not how they spend their time.SnoBrdr wrote: Agreed but how dumb is it to use your work email for non work related things.
