Based on your rationale then, is the new Skye Peak High Speed quad just on mountain maintenance too??

Mount Snow is spending the $$ on NEW installation fan guns and the associated electrical and piping that go with them. They haven't trumpted about all the regular maintenance pipe that they've replaced (and they replaced ALOT of feet of pipe just like K did too), and based on the amount of large diameter pipe that in the parking lot at Mount Snow, they'll be replacing a bunch more too)

2. Killington gets asked specifically about how they could trumpet $5.3 million when, in fact, $2 million was spent by Grand owners

3. Killington, in the person of Chris Nyberg, tells one of the Selectboard members who asked about this, that Killington spent $3.3 million, plus another $2 million in maintenance they never talked about previously, basically stating that Killington really did spend $5.3 million of their own money plus $2 million of Grand owners' money.

4. Most people with an IQ higher than their shoe size conclude that the original press release was intentionally misleading and the subsequent explanation that added even more money to the pot was pure BS.

why is it important to tell people that they are spending the grand owners money for new carpet? arent these condo fees that get put towards renovations and other projects? so, in the end, this isnt money that powdr put forward, this is money collected from owners?

I dunno but I thought the new carpets were very nice when I walked over them in my snow and mud covered ski boots this season

The refurbished units look spectacular (actually too nice for my tastes).

End of the day, all the Grand Summit timeshares (Sugarbush, Killington, Sugarloaf) and any other timeshare will be putting this type of money in periodically. It's part of how the timeshare system works.

Question for you: If you have a share at the Grand Summit in Killington can you trade with someone that has a share at Sugarbush, Sugarloaf or Mount Snow?

The $5.3 million -- sorry, the $3.3 million -- included several items, like paint and carpet and signage -- that was mere MAINTENANCE.

Mount Snow is taking those items out of the mix and talking about them separately.

Killington lumped at least SOME of them in with their bigger number.

Killington may have spent ADDITIONAL monies on maintenance, but that's NOT what we're talking about here!

Oh, and by the way... if Killington really did spend ANOTHER "$2 million", even if only on boring ol' maintenance... don't you think it odd that the only folks they ever mentioned it to were the denizens of K-Zone? Doesn't that seem... suspicious?

Of course it doesn't! Not to you, anyway. That's what makes you Skippysnow, Powdr's own big slobbering lap dog!

I cant speak for K, (Or can I? ) but I believe that they talked about those maintenance projects, but that 3.3 was not spent on maintenance, it was spent on "non sexy stuff" like major pipe replacements, new hydrants, added drainage, renovated pub, dozens of low energy guns, fan guns, electrical work for fan guns, and a bunch of other projects. The orignal release didn't include much of this, it came along as the summer went on. The original releases talked about many maintenace projects that would definelty be happening, and the rest was, lets see how much we can get done this summer. . . As it happened, we heard about it. Again, they got $300,000 more later in the summer, as projects came along, and they figured out what needed to be done, and what else they wanted to do.
