And that's a very good thing. But as harsh as it sounds, just realize your kids probably aren't the most important thing to anyone else.

so bubba how IS the weather ...
don't see what the big deal is with slowing the lift. certainly preferable to the alternative, a lift stoppage taking a couple minutes to untangle the participants and restart because of a loading mishap.

Learn to laugh and find the humor in every situation ESPECIALLY were kids are involved or the normal stresses of life will kill you .

You have to have the lift slow down for your kids every time they get on just to show how they are the most important thing in the world to you? You have to bring kids to adult movies and restaurants to prove how important they are? You are mentally ill if you need to be a dick to everybody else so you can prove what a great parent you are. As I have said I have many friends with kids and they all find a way for them to ride the chair without slowing it down, dont take their kids to adult movies and restaurants and if they did realized they would have to leave abruptly if the kids acted up too much. I always thought it was common sense.
If you had one night out for dinner a month and it cost $75-100 and somebody decided to bring their kid and he screamed and acted up the whole time you would say this is just that parent showing what a good parent they are and how important their kids are to them? Pay for a sitter cheap skate like normal people.

It's funny, I keep clicking this thread hoping to see an update of the trail/weather conditions.
For the record, I have no problem with them slowing down any lift for the little ones, except for the canyon lift. If you're in the advanced trail pod you should know how to load a lift by then or at the minimum go to the box. The real problem I have is that they don't run any of the fixed grip lifts at full speed. They're so slow the lifties don't even have to swing the chairs back.

Irony? I think normal people go out to an "expensive" restaurant ($75-100 is easy with a couple glasses of wine and a tip) every once and a while.
When you go out to the roadside food truck or hot dog stand for a fine dinner I can understand how you wouldn't mind other people bringing their kids and staying when they acted up rather than get a sitter.

Someone has to say it, so I might as well. Some people should NOT have kids. I suspect this poster is one of them. I do hope I'm wrong.realreddy wrote:YEP! If everybody had your self centered attitude and took young kids on lifts and slowing down every time the lift would take 20 minutes to get to the top (and I'm not talking about the learning areas like Rams Head or Snowdon where slow lifts are to be expected) and movies and expensive restaurants would not be worth it with the inevitable behavior issues young kids and parents deal with when growing up. I bet your the guy who stands in the middle of the supermarket isle pondering which of the dozen brands of toilet paper you want to indulge in to clean your brain with while people struggle to get by. Its all about you! The considerate parents I know help their kids up on the chair with their arm or teach them the timed hop onto the chair. The inconsiderate ones like you just say f-it I wont even put in the minimal effort.

Re: Thursday Morning...UGH!!
A few years ago, when my kids were smaller, some lifties told me they slowed the lift simply because of the large weight difference between me and my child, rather than because of their abilities. Basically the little one sits then the big one sits causing the chair to swing and launch the little guy. It is not always the little one's fault that the lift gets slowed down for them.Clutch wrote:It's funny, I keep clicking this thread hoping to see an update of the trail/weather conditions.

Hey, that's not fair!!!! Those roadside trucks have some quality meat (by) products. Why ya gotta be hating on the roadside food guys? That's just not right.GSKI wrote:Irony? Re: Thursday Morning...UGH!!
I think I will be just fine with my kids. The parents I know have a phrase called "kid friendly" and it relates to the activity and how acceptable it is to have kids potentially being kids and acting up. We know when we go to dinner at their house that the 3 year old could and has started screaming that she wants her mommy and mom will have to leave the table. I am amazed that some people are so sucked up in their world that they think that even the most modest of consideration it too much trouble because it would not be showing how important their kids are to them. I guess it takes all kinds.
Like the guy in the fast lane who wont move for passing traffic even though he could or the person who blocks the supermarket isle pondering a food choice while other shoppers struggle to get by or the parent who ruins a dozen other couples expensive dinner when their kid acts up some people are dicks and you seem to fit the bill. None of what I have said makes any sense to you and seems totally outrageous. I know about a dozen parents and they all feel and act exactly as I have mentioned and think that is normal on their part.
