cha ching we have a winner...

those pics were taken on what turned out to be one of the very last days it was open for lift serviced skiing...we had the VT ski council 17 tix package, it was a cool spring day and ascutney claimed to have 100% of their terrain open vs everywhere else that was accurately reporting full coverage but frozen and yet to thaw spring conditions...

we had the place to ourselves and ski'd moon surface rock hard insanity in the am then shin deep Velcro mank in the afternoon...there were some good runs later in the day as well...never got to use my stowe ticket that year either...

note the below alpine zone pine and how much it thrives there vs higher up in places like K...Only time I ever ski'd ascutney, at the time we were rather perturbed we spent a day there we could have better spent elsewhere given the reality of conditions but looking back I'm glad we had the chance to ski it...it was something of a plus -sized suicide six like experience minus the posh...

and for those that may not have known STAB is what ascutney has become...
