One of the things for the new lift to get approved was having ample parking spots at bear for the uphill capacity. Some bro who said the lift would never get approved by the town told me this last April. I think they might of had to remove the DFQ to meet this criteria?

Dont think so, K had many more (hundreds I believe) parking spaces than the required amount.

Right...
By historical standards, Bear was empty last winter.

"The current Bear Mountain lifts require 833 parking spaces. The new lift requires an additional 23 parking spaces and there are currently 967 parking spaces in the Bear Mountain lot. Horner does not see this project having a significant impact on the adequacy of circulation."

I can understand the local businesses wanting a zoo on weekends because they mostly ski/ride midweek, but for the weekend warriors it would suck to have 1 Mil+ on weekends. I like to add a weekday or 2 every trip to get a taste of what the locals get!

If I only did weekends (700,000 or 1 MIL+) I don't know if I'd enjoy riding nearly as much ...

Current levels are a good balance, I think...

Yeah, that's pathetically empty. The main lot is barely more than half full. The lot on the other side of the pond is empty. You can drive up and get near-slopeside parking. Notice the ironic "King of Spring" sign on the wall of the Bear Bar.
I skied over but I'm told you could drive in at noon and still get a parking spot for BMMC. That pretty much means the Bear lot was never 100% full last year.
Last season we drove to BMMC and we parked almost near East Mountain Road. This past season we drove exactly the same time around 1 and we found a space 4 rows back in the lot, there were plenty of spaces left and there was nobody parked outside the lot...

Thats because POWDR in their infinite wisdom and knowledge of Killingtons culture killed the party which was what BMMC was all about in the first place.

According to Killington, the event is the bump competition, not the party.

Which is why they booked the Smithereens and fenced off a "beer garden".
Preston Smith put in BMMC in the first place to market spring skiing. It's kind of pointless when you hold the event in March and announce an April 13th closing date.
