Favorite Meal in Killington?

IMHO, best pizza in these parts is American Flatbread, located off Route 100 in Waitsfield just north of Sugarbush. Super crowded, somewhat expensive, but well worth the money and the wait. Cool atmosphere - open evenings on Fridays and Saturdays (possibly Thursdays now), kid friendly. Check it out when you are in the area.

Also an excellent choice. A bit fancier than Ramuntos, but there you go...

The food at our place. One-third the price and twice the portion size. Afterwards, cocktails by the fireplace?

Our car is always already parked, we're either in the hot tub, or relaxing thereafter, and we're not waiting 45 minutes to one hour for a table and starting to eat dinner at 8 PM (when we arrived at 6:30).

$8 Martinis at some places are $2 Martinis using any of the 'better' vodkas, at our place. Would you pay $14 for a gallon of gas or $2.50/gallon of gas? I'm the $2.50 kind of guy. Not the moron who pays a 700% price jack.

And I NEVER pay $5 door price to have OUTBACK pizza. But there are plenty of schmucks who'd pay twice that at the door and THEN get gouged again inside.

Yep, the meals at our place are great...very reasonable, extremely delicious, in complete luxury and comfort. And the best part: no folks with really silly attitudes at the bar. Just great friends gathered together in a warm, inviting atmosphere, and all of us delighted in not paying $150 for a couple's dinner.

Come on JTJ, he has some valid points there. $8 martinis, gin or vodka are ridiculous, along with $6 Long Trails. Customer Service and meals are, well shall we say sub par in many cases, considering the price. AND if it is a busy weekend, forgetaboutit if you don't have a reservation, and if you do have a reservation, expect a half hour delay. I like to sit in the bar for a beer, but then Johnny law is awaiting me on my ride home to harrass me, drunk or not. I can go home, have a few beers, martini, dinner and settle comfortably down by 9 for all less than $20.

prices here arent any higher than any other resort destination out there. you want to talk expensive, check out the Summer House or The Wauwinet on Nantucket. $8 martinis are cheap, you do understand you are getting straight booze right? only place ive had a $6 LT was at the Double Deuce. also, for the record, ive never had bad service at any restaurant/bar up here, ever. where are you getting reservations around here? im not trying to slight you at all Doc, but lets get some things straight here. thanks...

I've been in the one in Portsmouth, NH a bunch o' times. Not exactly value-priced but it's pretty good quality. I wouldn't drive 60 minutes for it but I think it's way better than soggy red sauce suburban strip mall pizza.

Ramunto's in the Mill Building in Bridgewater is pretty good and you can get quite a few varieties by the slice. Great draft beer selection, too.

I've been in the one in Portsmouth, NH a bunch o' times. Not exactly value-priced but it's pretty good quality. I wouldn't drive 60 minutes for it but I think it's way better than soggy red sauce suburban strip mall pizza.

I think that "Flatbread Company" is a different company/chain from the "American Flatbreads" up near Sugarbush.... There is a "Flatbread Company" in Amesbury, MA too.... I think they are very similar in price and quality.... either way, I agree, I'm not driving 60 minutes at nighttime along Route 100 for it though!

Do you go out to eat anywhere? Pretty much in all cases, you can cook the same thing at home for less money than what you would pay out, or drink the same drink at home for less money than you would pay out.

I can't remember ever getting bad service either? Some prices are too high and I'm not always happy with some of the food (happens anywhere you are), but I've never had bad service from the waiter or waitress at K...

Noel's at Sunrise gave me some staggeringly bad lunch experiences a few years ago. There was the "burned to charcoal on one side, not toasted at all on the other, grilled cheese" incident where the waitress looked dumbfounded that I thought there was a problem with the food. There was the "ignored for 30 minutes at the bar and then for another 30 minutes at a table" incident where I got the manager who had been ignoring me for that first 30 minutes and explained why I was never ever ever going to return and that a gift certificate would be wasted on me. I'm going to give it another shot this year.

I was treated like crap at Casey's once around 12 years ago and didn't go back for a decade.

The service on the Access Road is usually good other than Saturday nights but my expectations are always lowered on Saturdays.

unfortunately for most of us, saturday nights is the only time we go and service is usually pretty painful w/ long waits on the access rd on saturday's.

we hit noel's in mendon once last year and had an excellent experience.
