Real short windows this weekend to make snow. But kudos to management for going after every opportunity. Maybe Sunday night will let them push hard for a Monday morning passholders event. Saturday day hits 40 in the North Ridge, Sat night and Sunday night will have North Ridge temps just below freezing, then warming Monday. Love to see the forecast wrong, maybe some K3000 magic does the trick.

Based on Snow-Forecast, they should actually be able to make snow throughout most of the day on Saturday, though at very marginal temps. It will not hit 40 in North Ridge. Maybe at the base.

Other than a small window on Saturday AM and again on Tuesday AM, my elevation forecast shows North Ridge being in a good position to make snow all week.

Man those chairs are swinging.

I love it when they make snow on skyhawk.

Nice to see them trying, but I doubt they're going to be open tomorrow.

I don't think anyone thought they were going to open tomorrow. We'll see tomorrow morning how much production they got in. Opening will be Sunday afternoon at the absolute earliest.

This is the best forecast for elevation. Just click on one of the green mountain peaks. Doesn't go out very far. But it is a forecast by a meteorologist not just some algo spitting out data from one run of one model from who knows when.

https://www.weather.gov/btv/mountain" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So at the summit it stays below freezing but gets marginal for snowmaking. Click on Ludlow Mountain (Okemo) and you'll see that at 3,300' it gets up to 36 and doesn't get consistently below freezing through the forecast period of 6pm Sunday.

All the models indicate snowmaking temps at 2,500' overnight Sunday. In and out of temps next week, with something to watch for late in the week.

Looking at the webcam, North Ridge Quad is turning as well.

And turning quite quickly at that. I'm counting a quick 6 second chair spacing.

Was just over at KBL. They were shutting down the 4 fan guns on Preston's Pitch, the 3 additional new ones at the bottom were already off. Not much on the ground from any of them anyway. They may be working there way up the SS line now as well. There was about a 100 yard gap between the top fan gun and the bottom K3000. Over on the North Ridge, Rime looked to be top to bottom, but Upper Eastfall appeared to be shut down. They'll probably be further shut downs today, but I expect only for a few hours. BTW, the new lodge looks great, and is coming along fast.
