For Newpy and Snoloco, whose memory needs refreshing:

Planning for FIS World Cup entails experience, expertise, commitment
By Karen D. Lorentz
Editor’s Note: This is the first in a series of articles on Killington hosting the World Cup races on November 26-27, 2016.

[Jeff Temple] translated that into snowmaking hours to come up with a plan. That plan requires more snowmaking infrastructure and particularly more compressed air. So as not to take away from efforts to open the resort to guests with snowmaking on high elevation North Ridge (and moving down from there as temperatures get colder on lower sections of the mountain), he added more air capacity as part of the World Cup budget. He has also set up two teams; one will focus on Superstar and the World Cup and the other on the usual resort opening.

More references to the original split snowmaking plans if you care to dig for it.

He was either selling a bill of goods or being the first season of the venue they didn't yet comprehend the effects it would have on resources overall.

Either way, fine with being proven wrong. Not the first or last time.

A statement made at one point in time can be true at the time, but doesn't mean it has to be true forever. Mr. Moose, when we met you told me you and Ms. Moose were not married. That is not true now. Did you lie? Did you mislead me? (And I do have fond memories of your wedding many years ago, btw). You hold Killington to a standard you do not adhere to yourself.

Any hopes of top to bottom were short lived. The guns are already off.

The stairs and the sucker customers willing to walk them are a crutch for the resort and its earliest to open branding.

think they started w good intentions but the reality, particularly with the "warming climate", has made it more difficult in practice. they did get the NR open as soon as possible. we'll see about ttb, especially now w the guns reportedly off.

i'm sure their intention is not to "screw" their customers (and in the end they seem to do whatever they can for them) but the WC has to take priority so ttb gets caught in the crossfire. the problem is when they're against the deadline like this and they have to make snow on both supe & SL at the same time. if they get supe done and then do SL, it's not a problem.

The pictures that were sent to me last night were of Great Northern.

I'm actually there right now. Only 4 or so guns near the GN/Killink intersection. What a failure.

As of around 5 the pipe is fixed on UEF. Hole backfilled and covered with snow. I'm guessing it will reopen tomorrow.

The line has been successfully charged and they are running on it again.
Wow - That was pretty quick. We saw the welder heading up in his truck at about 3:30 from the bay 1 lot.

Also, what's up with all the annoying ads on this forum? Over past few weeks, I would see and ad or two. OK, I can live with that.

This morning, it seems like a 10-fold increase in them as well as seeing the same ad [house for sale in Cavendish for one] in multiple places on each page.

As I've heard the moderators say before, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!

The Mountains Ops offices are down below the Bubble on the way out you should march right in there and tell them how irrate you are. Either they'll get T2B or they won't.

Apparently 3 trails (SS, SL and ttb) of simultaneous snowmaking is too much for their system to handle.

In an attempt to stop the annoying Google pop up ads, we apparently created a new issue. The cure seems to be worse than the disease.

I don't know which Rogman this is, the Daily Reporter Rogman, the Cantankerous Rogman, or the Rogman MPS (Master Pot Stirrer). Seriously, air compressors and trail rollout to weddings in one post?

I merely re-acquainted Newpy with some historical facts he was so adamantly sure didn't occur. Which I thought was unusual since Newpy so closely follows all things snowmaking, lift ops and opening dates so ardently.

For the record, I support the WC Race and all that it brings. Always have. If it delays a portion of NR or TTB some amount due to unusual marginal conditions such that Superstar hogs 100% of available air, so be it. Once Superstar is done, those dozen extra WC compressors bring huge air capacity to get terrain expansion into high gear bigger than before.

How about you crank up the Rogman calculator and figure out the acre feet in WC Superstar, the total air capacity of the larger air plant, and how many days on average it takes K to surpass the previous trail rollout with all the extra WC air? That should calm down Snoloco for a while.
