Why does the TGR not have these problems?
I don't read it there, but this place seems to be more like a social group. Inevitably, as a social group, you will have breakdown's and conflict.
Also, it's my perception that the levels of skier ability are much more similar over there. So you might get some divergent levels of discussion that may frustrate one strata or another here.
So we made a mistake by meeting each other?
Nope. Bay 1 BBQ wouldn't be the same without a Killington message board to coordinate it.
I suggest a strict no-Alias policy and a 2 week ban for people who do personal attacks.

So are you now going to reveal who you really are
Was there a mystery?
Dr. No?
i thought maybe ty was joking but i guess not. go back and read capboy's first response to my post. Read the ensuing conversation and eventually the use of "I" when the moniker is switched. That should clear it up.
Get rid of the aliases, 1 account per person, they give people a sense that they can do what they want. And in most cases, this amounts to flaming.
Nah, thats sh*t. I made a whole movie making fun of you. and i didnt need an alias to post it. I didnt need an alias to call Vinny out on being a pussy.
However, since this board has generally sucked in the last few months, i find that some of the alias at least provide some humor.

I for one, have found that people have been pretty touchy lately. Wednesday's thread proved that.
I've found myself being touchy as well, and that in particular bothers me tremendously.
I tried to post some ski-related threads, but none of them caught on.
So I've kind of made a decision to avoid this place as much as I can. I've made this decision for my own sanity. I waste too much time here anyway. I don't know how some of you with post counts triple or quadruple mine do it.
In fact, the only reason I'm here right now is because I received an AWESOME PM from someone. THANKS! (You know who you are.) So after I read the PM, I checked the board, and saw this thread. Wow.
Dork, to answer your question, I think that all we need to do is look back. Every year I can remember we've all gone a little nuts in the summer time. Perhaps if we ignored this problem, it will go away come Columbus Day. If not, we can re-address it then. In general, I don't think policy changes are a good thing.
As a relative newcomer compared to the old timers on this board, I stay nearly quiet on policy issues. But since you asked...
I've seen many extremely funny posts by aliases. However, I don't understand the need to be anonymous when doing so. There could be a section on the site where aliases are tallied if you wanted to find out who was who. I think there would be far less venom if everyone was more accountable for what they say, and could not hide behind an alias. And I would like to know who to give credit to when they are very funny.
I suppose you'd still have several untrackable aliases whose owners had multiple email addresses. For instance, I have multiple paid email addresses, personal, business, etc, plus a free one. Perhaps this is behind Bubba's policy... which he ought to explain more. I would support Admins cutting down flaming posts where the subject matter is simply insulting someone. Since it seems the Admins want to keep a freedom of speech thing going as much as possible, why not move flame war posts to a flame war section, just like political posts? Then the wars can go on, and the rest of us can listen when we want to, and avoid it if we want to.
I have no aliases on this board, or anywhere else. I prefer people get to know me both on the board and on the hill.
There is a reason newspapers, a great forum of free speech, don't publish anonymous letters.
