Gee, let's see how many books I can sell.
BTW, your guy is in the WH now and he has plenty of skeletons in his closet. Sniff, sniff.

Re: Trump Presidency
If it were one or two staffers I can see your point. But at this point, it's what, a dozen? More? They can't all be money-grubbing hacks. If they are, Trump did a really sh!t job in hiring.
I agree, Biden sucks. He was not my choice during primaries. As I keep saying, I only voted for him in the general election because Trump was way worse. But this is the "Trump Presidency" thread.

Re: Trump Presidency
I asked my MAGA buddies about Trump's attempt to overthrow the will of the people - specifically if they would support Authoritarianism. They said it would be better than Biden.easyrider16 wrote: ↑Sep 29th, '21, 08:00I agree, Biden sucks. He was not my choice during primaries. I've said it before, but this is the beginning of the end of our democratic republic. These MAGA fools care more about their agenda than they do about democracy and freedom.XtremeJibber2001 wrote: ↑Sep 29th, '21, 08:06 I asked my MAGA buddies about Trump's attempt to overthrow the will of the people - specifically if they would support Authoritarianism. If that was true than trump would still be president. Thankfully it is not true. I agree with the second part of your post.easyrider16 wrote: ↑Sep 29th, '21, 08:27I've said it before, but this is the beginning of the end of our democratic republic. The MAGA crowd is still there. It's ready and waiting for a competent, unscrupulous leader to take charge of the mob and seize power. All that person has to do is follow Trump's template and tell them what they want to hear. That's what I mean when I say this is the beginning of the end.
And I'll also add that there are a contingent from the other party that are nearly as bad. Some of those far lefties would happily ignore precedent and law to prevent another Trump.

Re: Trump Presidency
A little history might be in order. Beginning at least in the 20th century, we’ve always had a portion of the population that supported or leaned toward authoritarian leadership. We saw it with the German American Bund, the American Communist Party, Joe McCarthy, George Wallace and maybe others I can’t think of off the top of my head. Wallace gained roughly 30% support in at least one primary before being shot. That’s about the base level of Trump support. Coincidence? Maybe not.easyrider16 wrote: ↑Sep 29th, '21, 08:59 The MAGA crowd is still there. It's ready and waiting for a competent, unscrupulous leader to take charge of the mob and seize power. It is your party that wants to federalize the elections, turn D.C. into a state, pack the supreme court, open borders and expand government programs making people dependent on the fed from cradle to grave. Your party despises the constitution, politicized the IRS, FBI and military and waged a coup against a duly elected president.

Which party exactly do you think is my party? Do you even read my posts? Until 2020, I voted for Republicans in every presidential election for which I was eligible. I was a registered Republican from the time I could vote until around ten years ago, when I re-registered as an independent. I have never been registered as a democrat.throbster wrote: ↑Sep 29th, '21, 12:28 It is your party that wants to federalize the elections, turn D.C. into a state, pack the supreme court, open borders and expand government programs making people dependent on the fed from cradle to grave. If my post is the lease self-aware, yours is the least aware, period. It looks like a regurgitation of something you heard from Tucker Carlson.

Re: Trump Presidency
Whoop, my mistake, 2016 was the first time I didn't vote for the Republican. I didn't vote for Hillary either, though. I threw my vote away to a third party that year. Biden is the first Democrat I voted for in a Presidential election, and I had to hold my nose to do it.

Re: Trump Presidency
So courts have found that Trump administration NDAs are void. Can we talk about how absurd it is that the administration required staffers to sign NDAs? This should really have pissed people off. The people the president hires don't work for the president. They work for us. We pay their salaries. They are public officials with a duty to the public good. How can we as citizens have an honest review of what our elected leaders are doing if their appointees and staffers are sworn to secrecy?

You're so full of it! Certain you didn't have to hold your nose to vote for Joe regardless, your vote didn't elect a Moderate, it elected a senior citizen fraught with cognitive decline that the radical progressive left is using as a Trojan horse to fundamentally change our Country. Why should the greatest country in the world be changed? Wake up Sheeple!easyrider16 wrote: ↑Sep 29th, '21, 16:20 Whoop, my mistake, 2016 was the first time I didn't vote for the Republican.
