Absolute embarrassment on snowmaking today. Only half of Easy Street, half of Panic/Needle's, and Anti Venom are online. Last year they made snow on 4-5 full trails at once. Now it's only parts of 2 or 3.

It’s financial. They are not hitting revenue targets. There is a hiring freeze. They are not fully staffed no matter what they are saying. There is something wrong.
NOTE: Saying they are "fully staffed" does not mean that their staffing plans this year are less than last year. I believe they just planned in advance to have less peeps on the payroll [and easier to be "fully staffed"].

Cheer up. After a total washout, they resurfaced 50 trails which are skiing well and opened a few more. And working on a few more. Storm coming tonight will be a game changer.

Yes, we should all be content with mediocrity.

Pico isn’t doing any better. Between Monday and today they added no terrain. Resurfacing only. Maybe 30 guns running today in total.

It sounds like they had to wait until Highline and Easy Street were off to turn the rest of Needles and Lower Wildfire on. Anyway you slice it that's far under capacity.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. They did turn the rest of the guns on Needle's later. And they turned a few on Wildfire. But not the whole trail. Highline and Easy Street are finished now.

Considering the upgrades they made and that they supposedly can run "more guns than ever" at Pico, the production has been pretty underwhelming. Not to mention the snow coming out of the guns on B slope today was blowing right into the woods.
The report also says they blew snow on Exhibition, but in reality they blew a small pile at the bottom of the run.

What is the latest they've ever opened Stage I and Sunrise? How about in 2015-2016 as the low mark? Yes they've never skipped but I'm still getting cold feet over my rental there on 2/3 at this point. Not even a fart whisper about either one.

They’re either terribly close to insolvent or Tate is in above his head. A lot of these issues have come with Jeff’s retirement and Tate taking over.

This week was Go time for Northeast snowmaking.
Crank at capacity, whenever possible.
Parked at Hunter yesterday, it sounded like I was parked next to the runway at JFK. Four score and more fan guns, and an equal number of low Es, were firing on both opened and new terrain. Their capacity, however you want to define the term, is impressive.
I counted a total of two ground guns on the whole mountain.
It appears to have been Go time at K too - on Highline.

January 30th, 2016 was the latest for Stage 1 in my memory. The first time I ever skied at Killington was January 21st/22nd 2007, and I remember it not being open then. It also missed MLK Weekend in 2022 and 2012.

The report mentions snow making on GE tonight. I assume it’s down to the bearly connection for now. Monday nights looks like another possible window for Route 4. But they will probably need resurface highline by then.

They pulled the guns from the Vista Deck section and staged them on GE just past Cruise Control. They aren't fully wired up yet though. Upper Skyeburst is also wired, and Cascade has guns staged at the top.

Hunter is making lots of snow, but the wettest snot. People ejecting everywhere. I think its Vails strategy to make wet piles everywhere.
