Last weekend, they did a paint and run job, only using every other hydrant. I'm surprised they have it open under the guns, given how susceptible that pipe is to blowouts.

Today is day 6 on Timberline if my memory and math are correct...(guns have been on since Saturday night 1/13?)newpylong1 wrote: ↑Jan 18th, '24, 12:33 I think they'll wrap up Timberline quicker than Highline because it's been significantly colder than when they were working Highline.
I also believe they'll build Dreammaker as well but possibly with a modified pipe like last year.

sounds like they're wrapping up. suspect they want it ready for saturday. if they shut down overnight that'll make 4 days and change which is pretty much par. then they move on to OL & DM.

I was told Swirl and Double Dip will be lit up next in the basin as well.

Lower Dipper is marked with a snowmaking symbol on the report.
Looks like they did cut Fridays from South Ridge. Every single trail off of it is open, yet it's not scheduled for tomorrow. You've got to be kidding me.

My recollection was Tuesday and Thursday, but that doesn't appear to be happening either...

Re: Expansion
on sunday we started at vale at 8am. as i said not a gun going anywhere which i took note of because the mtn's initial report said they were or at least they "strived" to. when i got home they mentioned "less than ideal" conditions. they could have gone on later in the day certainly by the captain's shift. think we were out of there by 10:30. but's that's sunday afternoon, not saturday night.Stormchaser wrote: ↑Jan 18th, '24, 16:37The Captain says they were on during the day Sunday (counters skiadikt's report)...skiadikt wrote: ↑Jan 18th, '24, 16:26they went on sunday night. from my sunday report:Stormchaser wrote: ↑Jan 18th, '24, 14:28Today is day 6 on Timberline if my memory and math are correct...(guns have been on since Saturday night 1/13?)newpylong1 wrote: ↑Jan 18th, '24, 12:33 I think they'll wrap up Timberline quicker than Highline because it's been significantly colder than when they were working Highline.

Re: Expansion
Jiminy has been pounding it. New terrain and major resurfacing simultaneously, day and night, all week.
They are boasting that they will have 100% of their snowmaking terrain open starting tomorrow. They deserve to boast. There is not a single window this season, that they didn't take full advantage of. Not a one.

Thermometer at the peak read -4. Add in the gusty wind and it’s probably the prudent decision.
