Friday report:)

Post by MrsG »

Great day - skied with skiputt, Rogman and Doria . . . MrG and Powday started later and were off on their own. Everything was great - no snowmaking . . . but there had been snow made in some areas that seemed sparse yesterday - upper Skyburst and more on Panic/Needles. Remained cold; however, the snow did stop . . . and, the Killington cloud appeared and made visibility questionable. If you're on the fence, get your butt up here - you will not be dissappointed . . . if you stay home - fine - more for us  K has done a great job!!!

Thanks Mrs. G!
Saw the K-cloud on the webcam..... seems it was hanging real low today.

Not on the fence at all.... really, really want to be there but I also want to meet my newborn cousin.
Next weekend for sure with a sick day or two included.

Sounds great will be skiing Sunday and Monday with hopefully some Natural Monday morning.
Next week is going to be cold! Any moisture coming through hopefully will be snow!

It's been close to the freezing mark and relatively humid today. It only feels cold with the winds we were having earlier today.

I got out late and saw that the early-vacationing hordes were already heeding Mrs. G's advice and heading up to K.
I turned right instead of left and went to good ol' Pico.

I parked right up front by the maintenance building about 10' from the snow and about 100' from the Golden lift.

The snow conditions were wonderful again. Not as cold or windy as it's been. I met up with a buddy from North Carolina and one of his friends.
We braved the K cloud and went up to the Summit. It was icy (and dark - K cloud again above summit lift tower 15) between the chair and 49er, but 49er itself was beautiful.
Firm, but not icy in the middle - fluffy on the sides. We went back up again and again for more. The fog didn't even budge.

Newly opened Expressway was fun, but Panhandler was full of death cookies and crumbs. I was hoping they'd still be blowing so I could do some whale riding.

My friends are boarders so they had me doing half-a$$ed jumps from the ridges on Fools Gold and Lower Pike. Big fun!

I cannot believe this is the same mountain that was in such a shambles when I left Sunday night. Four days of cold weather and everything has been resurfaced, and new terrain opened. Great day on the hill.
