Weather for the local NYC area said there was one more day of summer like weather and then return to what should be normal temperatures for this time of the year.

Got home from the Giants game to catch the 4th 1/4 of the Jets game. It just keeps getting worse for those Jets. Chad is done for the season as starter. What a mess.

Still hard to tell. I like this forcast http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Ki ... 3top.shtml because it gives you the freezing level. You have to click over from metric to imperial.

at 7 days out, NOAA's forecasting is totally automated based on a.) precip that is forecast to be in the area, and b.) temps determined from the average adiabatic lapse rate. so i wouldn't read too much into that. snow is still possible over the weekend at elevation and further north. The forecaster in burlington will look more carefully at snow potential on wensday afternoon and repeatedly as the weekend draws near.

also, the NAO and AO are both set to tank as we enter november, and so whether or not this weekend brings the freezing point all the way down to 2000 feet or not, i think we will see a much better set up for cold conditions with the air above us being cold as it trickles (and at times gushes) in from the north. have faith. the cold will come

Me Too!! If this forecast is any indication of what actually is going to happen, K will have fine snowmaking temps starting Nov 1 , and hopefully through opening day! (and all winter long? That would be too awesome!)

JOE BASTARDI'S ACCUWEATHER.COM WINTER FORECAST came out today to the public for free, and predicts that K will have normal temps, normal snow, and normal amounts of precip! i dont like this forecast, because it uses a bunch of analogs as a key part of the forecast, which to me has no meaning...
