This is the only info on the Killington snow report:

"Snow is on its way! By the time it hits, we'll have all the mountain conditions available!"

IT IS SNOWING! Other mountains are giving up to date info on snowmaking, weather, and snowfall.

My 5 year old could do a better job marketing than these fools.

What a waste.

I was awaiting for the Snowreport to be updated as well. They need to get on that, and get out the drift about the snowmaking and natural.

Noticed this as well. Why isn't there a snow report yet and where is the snowmaking trails on the interactive trail map. Wonder what the web guy is getting paid for lately....?

I've received many messages- electronic and print- from every major NE ski area with some type of hype and excitement in it. Maybe I am reading into things a bit too much, but I'd say all of the ex-ASC resorts and a few others all have subtle knocks towards K touting their own investments and improvements.

What or why these guys are holding back is beyond me. Not up to the task????

Snow is being forecasted in Boston for the coming weekend. It snowed more than half a foot in W NY.

That's the problem with outsourcing. Vendors are only concerned with fulfilling the obligations of the contract to the letter. There's nothing but callous indifference to the rest.

I think the real issue hear is Powder doesn't have the experience running an East Coast Resort. A lot of mistakes are being made from lack of experience. I think next year or maybe mid way through the season they may correct alot of blunders. It is going to be interesting to see what happens if we get good snow near Thanksgiving. ASC got caught off guard a couple of times. Hopefully Killington will remember if snow is on the ground in CT, MA, and NY before Christmass they will have significant early season bussiness. Powder appears to be taking the approach of a new bussiness owner who purchased a resort that they think they know what is best. It would be wise on there part to sit down and look at what has historically made Killington a great resort. Capatilize on those assests and you will be making money.

I think the new hired management is incompetent and has completely destroyed the Killington brand. The early open and late close were what created the buzz about "the largest snowmaking system in the world". Guess what? Everybody else caught up and passed them. Killington still has the most acres but it remains to be seen if they will actually make snow on everything and resurface at the proper intervals. Given that they have set their snowmaking budget at the level of the recent ASC malaise years, I have my doubts. As we all know, the Killington midwinter weekend product is friggin' awful compared to other resorts. Novices are doing human pinball on Great Northern and Great Eastern. They can't offer the intermediates enough acres. Most of the high traffic snowmaking boulevards are skied off by 11:00. If they don't have good natural snow, there is nowhere to hide. In my opinion, even though they've jacked up day ticket prices and season pass prices somewhat, the parking lots are still going to be full on Saturdays and it's going to be the same ol' Killington mayhem. It may very well be worse since the base lodges are going to be staffed exclusively by part-timers. Can you imagine the food quality at KBL and Bear this year when the people in the kitchen only work 3 day weeks?

I think you may be wrong about the weekend crowding this year, assuming other areas have reasonable snow with which to draw crowds. There may very well be fewer weekend skiers/riders as those who had cheap A41 passes now have reasonable options to go elsewhere or may not want to pay $79 for a Saturday ticket at K. Why would the Boston area skier come to Killington for $79 and the pleasure of playing human pinball when they could easily head to Maine instead?

Edit: Not that I think it won't still be crowded, just a little less visibly crowded than in the past several years.

but then again I(as other people on the board) know where to go to avoid people

Killington is now a part time ski area. This includes base lodges,snowmaking,snow reporters and keeps going on from there. No one cares anymore now that the resort has been taken over.Employees used to take pride in there work. Now it's just a very small paycheck. Powdr won't be selling to much real estate at a part time resort.
