Boycott the Basin!!!!

If your having any thoughts on whether to avoid or boycott the Basin ski shop, I think you should re-evaluate your thinking and your self-serving needs.
Until Rick sells the Basin to another, whether family or not, I would avoid the place like the plague.
He is a pedophile, guilty of child porn in the shop ITSELF.
In my mind, you support the Basin after knowing Ricks recent guilty plea, you are turning your back on the reality of what he did and how he is wired.
Their are many other shops equally good if not better on the K road.
Make your point people, avoid the place, if your feeling bad for others employed there, they could have moved on as well, and in staying are in support of Rick.
No to the BASIN pure and simple.
From another post.
Enough is enough, the fact this guy is still in his shop after pleading guilty sickens me, and then having a party to celebrate the season kick off...They can't lock him up long enough and fast enough for me.

And where do you suppose his employees could move on to?
Don't be silly.
For the record I don't know the man and I've never shopped at Basin to the best of my recollection. I prefer to patronize the shop in my condo development.
If you want to boycott Basin fine. If I was a customer I'm not sure I'd shop there anymore either.
Just don't delude yourself into thinking that Torrey is the only person you're gonna hurt by that decision.

what the man did is wrong and personally i would call him an asshole, but if he was selling something I needed for alot cheaper then anywhere else, I would go straight there

I know Rick quite well and am greatly saddened by these unsettling events. However, I didn’t start shopping at the Basin because of Rick and won’t stop shopping there because of him either. Too many Basin employees are good friends and neighbors.

Count me in. I will never go in that shop again as long as Torrey is part of it and I will actively convince everyone I know to do the same.
There are consequences to actions.

Again, if your going to the Basin, knowing what Rick has plead guilty to, you are enabling him and overlooking what he has done. Now I am hoping you don't condone Child porn, so why would you shop in a store where it was purchased by the owner itself?
Please stop your self-serving and take a stand, your either against Child porn and what Rick did, or your with him. Don't let saving a few bucks make your decsion to shop there, please...
I will never ever shop there and neither will my friends, who will pass the word on as well.
As for the employee's, I can only speak for myself, I can't obviously speak for them. I wouldn't want to be part of a shop where Child Porn charges are at the underbelly. Are you kidding me, I would seperate myself as far as I could.

Just out of curiosity, do you plan to boycott the Lookout as well? Torrey owns the building and financially benefits from that business. Wouldn’t the management and employees of the Lookout be guilty by association?

Yes, actually I never did go there too often anyways.
I am not giving a penny to that man or his business ever again, and if your of rational thinking neither will you.

Not that I plan on doing much of anything or purchasing over priced products at the Basin, but shouldn't the title be BOYCOTT rather than BAN? Nobody can Ban the shop unless the shop is involved with this problem. Then the State or Feds would take it away and Ban people from entering.
If you are going to do something, at least do it right and BOYCOTT the Basin.
Hmm, maybe the prices will come down if enough of you do that.

It's unfortunate for the other businesses. They are victims of something I hope they didn't know about. Is it fair to stop supporting businesses due to an indirect scumbag? It's not like they can up and move to other buildings in the area. I would like to see him sell off his properties to release the stress on the other business owners and crawl back under the rock he came from. From there who gives a crap where he goes as long as its a safe place for the public. It really sucks to see legitimate business people suffer for the actions of someone else. I'm not sure that boycotting these businesses is the answer. I agree that the Basin should be boycotted and maybe from there he'll have to sell out to survive.
