bobcat ski area

Post by skiadikt »

since i'm on this catskill jag, thought i'd mention that bobcat ski area in the catskills is planning to open this weekend. betcha it might be pretty interesting with all this nat snow. pretty substantial hill, over 1000' ft vertical serviced by 2 t-bars. we last skied there well over 20 yrs ago and it was kind of fun, though at that point we didn't really appreciate the wonders of natural terrain as we do now. with a crotchity old t-bar i'm sure it won't get tracked out and you'll probably have the place to yourself anyway. just mentioning it for locals who can't get to k for the weekend and are looking for a day trip off the beaten path with no expectations. i'm sure it's more in the realm of adventure skiing at this point.

I use to go there when I was in Junior High on bus trips. I love that place!! It was always powder when we went.
