Snowmaking update: Randy and his crew worked through the night last night, stockpiling on Canyon/Standard, Deer Run/Long John, Launch Pad, The Gulch and upper Nitro. The crew will have the night off tonight because of marginal temperatures, but they'll be in tomorrow afternoon again to restart the fan guns on all those same trails.

SO? Clearly their fan guns weren't able to compete with Killington's snowmaking team.

Go back to grade school and brush up on geography and physics dude... The only thing that might be able to compete with elevation is location, and they are beat at that too. derrrr

3:00 or so yesterday afternoon temps were going back down at K from there daytime high... It was 31 degrees at that time and guns had been and were still cranking all day long all the way down to K base.
2:30 this morning it was 32 degrees at K base and they were still blowing tons of snow everywhere, including all the way down the mountain to the base area.
K has had very marginal weather and they still made snow regardless... And they were using snowguns that need a lower startup temp than Mount Snows fan guns....
Also, nws has temps below freezing at Mount Snow tonight.
Killington: Opening top to bottom asap at all costs, and in much less time than prior years when they opened asap.
Mount Snow: Famed to do the above, yet clearly doesn't live up to the hype. Hype YOU have talked about and threw in our faces a lot.

time will tell. Past performance is a good indicator of future performance.

You act like opening 6 trails and 2 lifts is the second coming of Jesus. Give me a break, what are you going to do the other 7 hours after you are tired of the same run?
if in fact they stay open later than last year, I'm all for that. but because of the way they ran the resort last year, I took my snowboarding dollars to a better run mountain.
Depending on how this season goes up at K, i may be a season pass holder the following year.
I'm willing to bet, that they will stick to their original closing date unless the temps warm up and close earlier.
Put your money where you K mouthpiece is?

Has it really come to competing with mt snow??? I will not lower myself to that low level. It'd be like if the national championship was Texas vs. Boise St. - two completely different caliber teams playing on the same field. I agree Mt snows administration is doing a pretty good job but in the end it is the MOUNTAIN that gets me jonesing not the MARKETING! Here is to skiing on SUNDAY!
