Watch for the cop (Chester the Molester) while traveling through Chester. He sits either side of the town center all winter long just waiting for someone to nab for speeding. Always an unmarked car.

Rockingham, the Staties follow out of site and nail you as they pass in the opposite direction on 103.
Chester, when it says 40 and 30 and 25, they damn near mean it all the way through town. +5 could cost you $55.
Ludlow isn't too bad, but they can hide at times so be reasonable, especially on school days.
Tyson the sherriff may hang out by the Inn or the General Store. Not often, but be aware.
PLYMOUTH is a bad spot, especially early and late. Heading North he sits by a garage on the left side, at the store, the town garage or the school. Pretty much the same Southbound, and remember the speed drops to 35 BEFORE the houses. If you get to Bear Creek entry, it is too late.
Most times after that there isn't any trouble doing speed +5 or +10 conditions permitting.

Chester is the place where nearly anyone that drives that road has been stopped at least once. (not I so far)

Not sure I've ever driven through Chester without seeing a cop. And 25 mph means 25 mph, they will stop at 5 over...

That's a fairly narrow twisty road, but you do stay on 91 longer and avoid Chester and Ludlow... hmmm. Have to try that and time it.

I have also gotten off exit 8 and came in that way. It is a tough country road that winds up dumping you out on rt 100 across from the echo lake inn. I have seen allot of deer and MOOSE on this road and is actually the reason I'll go that way some time. It takes the same amount of time as getting off on exit 6 and comming up rt. 103. What this way is actually good for is if you are travelling into Ludlow and it's around 4 and Okemo is getting out.... I take the left at Echo lake inn over the stream and enjoy the ride. BUT I WARN YOU THEIR ARE TURNS INVOLVED AND IT COULD BE SLIPPERY.

I'd throw the "bs flag" on Exit 8, but, I'll let Moose check it out and report back here :ani_smiles

It's an hour between Exit 6 and Killington. If you don't hit a traffic jam in Ludlow, that has to be the fastest way.

I can believe Exit 8 is faster heading south at 4:00 on a weekend when you would hit the Okemo mayhem. You're better off using the Phantom approach and delay your departure until 5:30.
