Very sad, this guy was an awesome "skier". He was with the group of 5 reported snowboarders who were killed in an avalanche at Loveland. It seems so pointless to say if he was skiing or riding that horrible day. I wish there was a term for someone who was a skier, snowboarder, telemarker, monoskier, ski skater, whatever. It is that love of the mountain that brings us all together... so many of us do more then one of these. It is time we all come together and live our lives like Ian, in the end, the news reports the death of a person who loved the snow and mountain! We all share the mountain, and it seems like more and more we are doing more then one discipline at Killington!

I was one of the lucky ones who met him. I moved here in the early 70s and have skied as much as possible. That was his dream too and he was able to follow his heart till the end. Ski life to the fullest.. . My motto..
