Waste of resources

Post by shortski »

Time, money and effort to blow and open & OL, IMHO, for three days could have been put to better use to increase snow depth on Sky Bitter and Superstar. Just say'n.

Agreed - but that was marketing money too... It just needs a 24 hour refresher for the long weekend in 10 days.

Not trying to open OL would be admitting defeat. I think you're right though. Can't win until it snows.

Heard on KZone through the latter half of January:

Heard on KZone in early February:

"What a waste of resources. They should've saved their firepower to resurface what was already open."

They need to make snow on every expert trail except for Lower Ovation, Devil's Fiddle and Conclusion.

The runs we had on OL last weekend were better than any of the runs we have taken on SS pod this entire season.
It's a signature trail and they would have faced ridicule had they not attempted.
OL Base layer is in place. Let's hope we can leverage it
There is still time for Superstar.

It would be the Worst Idea of the Season not to blow OL. Maybe shorter skis are in order if the trail is kicking your butt.

OL is signature. Dreammaker is not. Time to ask what if February is the same as January for snowmaking allocation going forward.

looking at the picture, OL seems that it could easily be opened if it were groomed. I know that's heresy, but its going to happen at some point, because of the re-freeze. Groom the base, make snow and it will be skiable again by Saturday.

IMHO ... Regardless of the funky bump config, hope they don't deploy any equipment on it other than K9000's

Ol, Dreamaker, ovation, Vertigo aside, will they be able to blow the Superstar glacier this season. Resurfacing and base building for the balance of the mnt should come first.
