Do you really think SP Land is going to come up with $100m+?

That's a very low estimate.

I have my doubts.

I seriously hope that the SP investors find that their other projects are more worthy of their money, and they hold off on Killington for a long while until the real estate market strengthens and they have a better chance at getting the big list prices on the new construction. Not only will the buildout periods be a mess, Killington will lose a ton of day access parking forever. Your primary options will be to buy or rent in the Village, take a bus to a lodge, or ski elsewhere. Those will be your primary options. Bear Mountain will bust at the seams. POWDR will try all sorts of marketing to distract their customers from this awful reality, but it will not work because word of mouth killed their business once before and this has the potential to hurt them even harder.

But the SP investors will be happy! Seems like a fair balance if you are one of those few.

Hate to sound so negative on this future look, but if there was anything positive about it I would throw a light on it. Especially with the poor management decisions and lack of Vermont knowledge by POWDR. Whatever capital investment we hope for will be funneled into funding their portion of the Village bill with SP Land.

Every ski day I get in the coming short term pre-Village will be very precious, so it better SNOW, dammit!

Of course, they could build an interconnect and a new lift that offers access from the new parking spots further down the access road. But that would make too much sense.

Pretty sure it's E2M Partners who will provide the capital for the village, not SP Land or Powdr.

What was the issue and objection concerning a sprinkler system in each unit? Not having the water? Simple cost?

We had to spend $25 grand installing a sprinkler system in every room our ski club house 3 years ago. That includes it's own dedicated water line which was required, that's in addition to the water line supplying the rest of the house.. Y connection for the fire dept. outside. VT. is pretty strict about this nowdays.

I haven't read the decision but the sprinkler requirement being removed may be a technical issue of whose got the authority to require sprinklers. It could be the Town Planning Board, not coming directly under Act 250.

Usually the Fire Department through either the Planning Board (Site Plan Approval) or Building Commissioner (Building Permit).

The land is worth more if there is a development plan in place that allows building to begin. Whether E2M builds or sells it off to someone else who will, is a bit immaterial. My view is that E2M keeps kicking the can down the road, hoping for an uptick in the market. If they were really interested in starting construction, it would have already happened. There's a reason this is taking so long.
