When my wife and I were at K a couple of weeks ago boot shopping, we were going to have lunch at the Peak Lodge. She has never been up there. As it turned out it was closed for a wedding that day, but we figured maybe we'd come back during leaf season and go up.

Yesterday, we decided to go to Stratton instead and ride their Gondola up, then have lunch in Manchester. We did catch a spectacular day.

A big part of the decision to go to Stratton instead was the price of the Gondola ride at K, which is
$25 bucks per person. Stratton is $12. K is one round trip ride. Stratton is unlimited. A family of up to eight people can ride at Stratton ($35. A family of four at K is $75.) for less than the two of us at K.

What Stratton doesn't have is a Peak Lodge, which was our purpose of going up in the first place. But to me this is kind of the point. Should we have to spend $50 for the privelege of going up and spending money at the peak?

We ended up spending nothing at K.

Perhaps they should consider some kind of voucher purchase, where you pay in advance to spend money at the peak, and with it you get free Gondola access?

Lots of people were riding the Gondi today. There was actually a pretty big line.

It's not free for 16/17 pass holders? I did it yesterday at sugarbush and it was free for passholders. $16 otherwise

I think only full pass holders at Killington get to ride with their pass

The rides are free with any unlimited season pass, we use it all the time. You can also buy an unlimited gondola scenic ride pass for the season, I believe they are 50$.

K gondola rides are free with an unlimited pass, 50% off with other K passes.

Stratton includes free summer rides with ALL winter passes.

But passholder summer benefits are not the point.

K USED to include both a free summer gondola pass AND a free summer Mt. Bike pass as well.

Maybe Killington should consider providing a voucher that can be used for food, clothing, or equipment with the purchase of a gondola ride...ie....25.00/ride (which I think is way too high) but provide a 15.00-20.00 voucher???? That would make it a bit easier on the pocket book for those who don't have a seasons pass. We had company (4 people) this weekend who wanted to go to the Peak Lodge but it was too expensive....if they had a food voucher at least we could have justified the cost a bit. I think it is poor marketing for the mountain and leaves visitors with a bad impression.

A $15-20 voucher with each ride?

The full pass holders are already subsidizing the College Pass holder and now you want to give away more ?

So you think they should give free meals at the Peak Lodge with a gondola ride? I know I could eat & possibly get a drink for $15-$20. What about other pass holders who get 50% off. How much should they get? No soup for you unlimited pass holders since your ride is free.

Pass holders get 15% off food and ZERO off on alcoholic beverages.

You should really do a bit of reading on the K web site before you make such wild claims.
