Tuesday 29 Nov Report

Wet windy with a warmer fog cover across the yawning Beast. Watched as we stood undercover as the gondi line grew longer in the r*in filling up with race clinics students, instructor wannabe’s and a few regulars. Summit temperature of 30 degrees with the evergreens dropping off their white coats with the rising mercury. Yesterday’s newly made snow has been safely groomed into the softening base. Racers ran the normal morning drills as the instructors like ants gathered in formicarys before marching down the hill owning as much real estate as possible. Pretty easy to find a few trails that were void of training and drills like Upper Mouse Run. Thick manmade on Upper Chute was left to allow moguls to form but few possessed the super human strength needed to cut up the wet pack. Breakdown from the race continues with the mountain returning back to normal. Pulled the plug just after the noontime hour as we had enough damp skiing for one day.

Grade B

Quote of the Day - Turned out to be better than expected.
