May 2-4 Underpromise? On the 100 day bubble

Question about the history of operations after May 1. Is Killington's statement about going to fri-sun operations after May 1 possibly an instance of under-promising? Has the mountain ever stayed open the full first week of May, even after stating weekends only after May 1.
I am on the bubble for my first 100 day season and angling to get the final few days.
From the website: "Once we get into May, the Superstar Express Quad will operate Friday-Sunday"
BTW: Friday was awesome. Blue skin and Ropes dropped as sun warmed the snow. Lunch at the Jerk fantastic as usual - word is they are expanding to twice the size next year.

The Amazing Karnac says not likely. SS only after the least weekend of April. The money gods have spoken.

You know, you never know . . . we had most of our years with May opened full time . . . then cut to three days in the past few years . . . weather is an issue and if there was enough interest to keep open for those extra days, May 2, 3, 4th - maybe
Today was good, but difficult in some places . . . tomorrow will be better!!!!

Looked at the book today as my buddy joined the club. Should be somewhere above 200 folks this year. The list on the back page of the book shows the 27 folks that have gotten in for the first four years. Those lucky few that get all five years of membership get their Killington pass changed to one of these. I call it the You are Worthy Pass. Hope that if I ever get pulled over by patrol that will look at the pass and deem Me worthy of taking care of myself.

Thanks GIS and Big Bob. I was going to guess 20-50. 200 wow, that is pretty amazing. I'd guess you all know each other for the most part. Must be nice.

I saw Sharon today- her day off was Thursday when I got my hat. I asked her how many there were for this season and she didn't know. She said there are more than likely as many members now as there was all of last season. How many were there last season? I don't know. Count the names in the attached pic.
There's hope for you yet, GIS
Thursday was my 10th consecutive 100 day Killington season. I missed 06-07 with 92 days, than there was 11 consecutive seasons prior to that with 100 Killington days.
In three more Killington days, which will most likely be Tuesday, I will have my 2500 recorded Killington day.

Impressive 22 year run there Ozzy and yes you are truly worthy. Got lucky as my first 100 season was five years ago just when the Club got started. Presently at a 1750 Killington Days lifetime total.
Best party I went to last year was the 100 Club Bash. Getting to hang out with a huge group of friends that love this place as much as I do was awesome.

Mike mentioned a few years back that operations after May 1 were a money loser, but K did it for branding. I have no reason to believe that has changed. Sure there are a few great Saturdays when the crowds come out, the deck is hopping, and the beer is flowing, but there are far too many days when that is not the case. My personal goal is 60 ski days a season, with 50 of them at Killington, but as a full time non-local, even that is as elusive as a unicorn at an NRA convention.

So first I learn that a 100 day season just gets you on the JV squad. Five consecutive 100 day seasons before you get a varsity letter (100 day club pass) and > 1500 lifetime to get on the starting unit. And then there is this guy.

Old skiers make aging look fun.

A few years back I could get 11,000' per hour at Loon, NH riding 2 high speed quads midweek. The most in a day for me was 52,000' in a day. I was using an Avocet watch to clock my vertical back then.
I like the part where he has 2 artificial knees. I wonder how many feet are covered under the warrantee!

We all have our little things like days skied and vert feet obtained, but for years I've always wondered how many vert and days skied Barb Marshall has.
Think about it. Every day from open to close. All day everyday. There's even a say around town, "you can't ski all day, every day - unless your Barb Marshall"
So let's figure she skis 50k/day. That's well over 1M vert per month, times six months. That's an unimaginable amount of vert. What she skis in a day is about what I ski in a week.
If she ever kept track of that stuff she would lead EVERY category by miles. Keep doing what your doing, Barb!
