at one point in the mid 90's we had a total or near total eclipse in CT and a buddy and I were out fishing ( trout streams and ponds) we both limited that day...good times...

Monday afternoon, April 8th, 2024. Burlington. Maybe I'll have my 1989 Eclipse back on the road by then....

Killington will reach 99% at 3:27 pm. The 100% corridor stretches from Middlebury/Montpelier to Montreal.

Now will it be a clear day in northern VT?

Held the eclipse glasses over the iPhone lens. Took several tries to get something decent.

Huh? What kind of stupid sh*t is that? My plan was to be at the peak bar for it. Guess I'll be watching from bay 1 drinking my own beer instead of buying from the mountain.

not sure why they're not doing "something" for it. they charged for the easter service and will charge for the pond skimming (both for charity). could do something similar for this. of course folks here would complain but here's what stowe is doing (da bush will have a party in the courtyard and are charging $250 for a cat ride to view from the top of mt ellen and MRG is also throwing a party w special ticketing to ride the lift):

Per a recent email blast, Killington is closing at 2pm for "safety" and to "enable their team to witness" the eclipse.

as the solar eclipse approaches, please be aware that we will be closing all lifts at 2:00 p.m. on April 8 for safety and to enable our team to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event. Viewing will be available from the K-1 lodge.

Once in a lifetime? Didn't it happen in 2017?

2017 was partial and happened over the summer.

last TOTAL eclipse in vermont was 1932. next one 2106. think that's once in most people's lifetimes.

Especially that last one in 2032. How’d I miss that with my time machine?
