WOW, He would come by with son in tow to get a couple runs in. Had not seen him in quite some time. Condolences to his family. He will be missed among the Killington faithful.

He will be missed. For many years my ski day started with him.

He was the heart and soul of Bear Mountain for decades. Always greeted us at the OL Triple chair .. later the OL Quad. He always held back the chair as we loaded. Today’s lift operators unfortunately could never fill Farmer’s shoes. In later years he was the leader of the Skyeship base lift. Truly a prince of a man with a heart of gold that made a difference for generations. God bless you Farmer Mason RIP

Farmer was a great guy. A big greeting every time I saw him. When he retired I was sad for us, but happy for him.
Rest In Peace Farmer. There will never be any one like him.
Yes, he did hold the chairs back for us when we loaded and tried not to let it hit us in the back of your knees.
The new liftees should be trained how to load the lifts and clean off the chairs.

I too remember how nice he was. It's sad that he is now gone. Condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

As I struggled to carry my baby in a car seat to snowshed daycare, plus the diaper bag, the ski boots, etc he came and helped. He was a very kind, caring and compassionate man, always happy, that we were blessed to encounter. Lets pay tribute by happily helping others. RIP

P and I normally start our day at the Skyeship, once it opens, so saw a lot of Farmer in his last working years there. I always thought how nice it was for "tourists" to be greeted by such as nice person at their first lift ride up.

Thanks for the link, I didn't know him by name, I needed the picture...our conversations were limited to "it's another beautiful day" (regardless of what the weather was and/or conditions might be). RIP

Great guy. He was a good reason to make the trek to route 4 and I sure missed seeing him there once he retired. He always greeted me by name, as I did him. Easy for us both to remember! Condolences to his family, I hope they know how many lives he touched, and how well he was liked by every one who knew him.
