tuesday 2/1 report

turned the page on january. welcome to february. a real "scorcher" and bluebird days never get old. hit the usual snowdon groomers at the bell including highline & LEF. beautiful packed and sunshine. my rotd continues to be breakaway. still well covered and softened a bit by the sun and balmy temps. wildfire bumps firm but good. old needles the best on that ridge. escapade still skiing well. the usual caveat on old supe. lower lark had been groomed and much better. north star better than expected. took a run through the peace park. holy f***. huge! lots of features i've never seen before. they've certainly gone all out. honored to have the captain w us for much of the morning and rusty for a few in the mid-afternoon.

Went through Peace Park too - crazy stuff in there!!! No complaints on the Rams to Sup area. How come no reviews on Great Bear from you guys?

great bear, particularly lower, rather icy bumps and for now there's so much better stuff to ski.

btw didn't mention above, but upper header has really nice ungroomed nat snow.

Afternoon report. Started at the bubble. Found the Skiadict crew for some runs with them.

Escapade to Cascade nice and fast. Highline even faster. Windy as heck.

Went over to the Piece park and was very surprised. Lots o fun!

Couple of runs over at Needles. Dealmaker and Thimble still good.

Was cold at the end once the sun was gone. Should of worn mittens.

Hopefully the Groundhog will be on our side tomorrow.

Groundhog Day 2022: Punxsutawney Phil predicts 6 more weeks of winter as massive storm threatens wide swath of U.S.

Pennsylvania's most famous groundhog emerged from his burrow on a cold Wednesday morning and saw his shadow, declaring there would be six more weeks of winter. Punxsutawney Phil made his annual prediction as another major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, ice and freezing r*in to a large portion of the country.

Morning Report: Had some medical stuff to take care of this afternoon and tomorrow, so decided to get up early and join Skiadikt for the early shift. Really nice, though easy skiing, for first 1-1/2 hours or so with full sun and great groomer conditions.

ROTD: Breakaway.

Aside from what SA posted, still liked later day North Star and Conclusion. Also, Skye Hawk skiing very nice with a bit more work not required to access it.
