2022/23 K Tickets

Post by Mister Moose »

$89. Usual buy 7 get one free. Valid any day. Transferable. Available through October 20.

Seems like an earlier offering this year.

"OVER 50% OFF WINDOW LIFT TICKET RATES"
So, ... peak window rate is over $178?

We got Pico tickets last year and I think before that as well. Great deal for when the family comes on weekends when we don’t want to ski K anyway.

Since the Express Card is gone, these K tickets are going to be the only option for some people.

Having to get rid of Express passes, Beast Bucks, and Resort Charges (and anything else that involves on-demand credit card charges or credits attached to your pass), because their new POS is apparently a P.O.S. system, seems extremely lame to me.

"Hey, passholders and ticket buyers. Great news! We downgraded our point of sale system. If you want any kind of ticket discount whatsoever, you must pay in advance. If you want to purchase something in the lodge and get your pass discount, all you have to do is first present your pass for the discount, then present your credit card. You can no longer just pay on a resort charge on your pass. No more express passes. They simply won't work on our new system. Yes, we know we used to advertise these things as conveniences, and other resorts still do, but too bad."

I won't assume they have done this on purpose. The notion that they screwed up,and committed to a new system that won't even do what their old bar code system did, sounds about right.

2019 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift (operating midweek) shouldn't be."
2023 - Killington announces that the South Ridge lift will run five days a week.
2024 - Killington lied.

Wonder if this is Powdr-wide rather than just K…

Getting rid of resort charge makes no sense. I would think people would spend more when they don't directly see the bill. It also makes no sense at a time when many resorts are transitioning to all cashless payments.

K Tickets can actually be a better deal than the express card, because they are 50% no matter what day, rather than only 25% off on weekends, but the downside is you're locked into the exact number of tickets you buy, rather than being able to go as few or as many times as you want.

I believe they used to come in "3 Packs" - these appear to be individual, so slightly different I suppose, but similar concept.

And the exact dollar amount. These are not %off the day you ski, the 50% savings is in reference to K ticket pricing and max window rate. You go on a an early or late season day with these, you are likely paying more than you could have buying online in advance.

Why would they kid you? They don't want you to buy a day ticket, they want you to buy a pass.
