Glorious conditions and a sunny day! Bit of a crush in the K1 at the open, and throughout the day it was clear Killington was trying to run on minimal staff. Bravo; give as many as much time off as possible today. At the peak, the Killington cloud was in full exhibition, augmented by guns on Blue Heaven as they work on connecting to Skye. Upper Double Dipper had Ratnik stand guns; Downdraft Headwall was lit up later in the morning.
Everything skied well but Mousetrap was exceptional, easy ROTD call. Around 9:15 they got the Bubble running; laps on that allowed more time on Mousetrap. Upper Bunny was the best of the 3 open from the top; overshadowing mouse run and full house. It took a while for them to find a patroller to drop the rope on lower Chute.
The magic carpet at Ramshead was open, and the youngest in our party enjoyed it.
Caper was lit up as well. Snow makers are relentless.
I’ll try to post pix later.

yes just a magnificent tofurkey day on the hill. the new best day of the season as conditions were quite good as we basked in the glorious sunshine. everything in the NR good though UEF had deteriorated by late morning.
indeed the big news was the season premiere of the bubble. slightly delayed start but a welcome addition. in addition to killink, we had 3 upper runs including bunny, mouse run and full house. all skied well but upper bunny was the best. will second mouse trap which developed some huge bumps as rotd but runner-up was upper dipper under the guns was excellent as well.
regarding snowmaking, they were making snow on vale & caper early and the upper mtn including downdraft hw, upper dipper, blue heaven and bear trax. couldn't tell how far down bh & bt they were going. guns probably shutting down mtn wide later today due to temps but resuming overnight at least on upper mtn and shut down for the weekend.kudos to the mtn for a fabulous job.
don't normally do this but was warm enough to take my hands out of my gloves:

Agreed, the skiing was terrific today. I was surprised by the amount of
beginner skiers that were out on the hill. Quite a few waking down.

Great turkey day runs for sure. Out around 9:30 parked near the bubble. Surprisingly full parking lot.
Bubble just opened I was told. Rode up with LINY Bob and skier girl. Runs over at NR we’re same as last weekend.
Good to see upper dipper opened. Blowing the Downdraft head wall too.
Lift ride up with Klondick. Good to meet you. Mousetrap good bumps.
Up at the peak, light crowd at the bar. But filled up by 12;30.
More bubble runs and then called it to cook the bird. Looks like a great start to a WC weekend.
See you at the bib drawing!

a few other things, the unload at the top of the snowdon triple was buried. they were digging it out. expect to see that added to the mix tomorrow. the upper tunnel on snowdon was open for business and mouse trap seemed more heavily roped as they tried to prevent unsuspecting skiers from shipwrecking on mouse trap or from cutting across to get to mid-chute.
as scotch mentioned, quite a few skiers in way over their heads. definitely ted mack was hosting. the "invasion" has begun.

To be honest I can't believe they got all of that open on Snowdon in a few short days, thank you guys for the pictures and reports.
I'm glad they reverted Trap to a black, it wasn't doing lower intermediates any favors. The coverage looks good all the way across, did they have guns on skiers right as well? Never seen that side used from my recollection.

Trap is back in black ? As it should be . . . Darwinism works in strange ways . .

Agree Mouse Trap better in black ! Might keep some herbs off.
No snowmaking, other than a bit of blowover on right side. Not ready [for me at least] yet.
