Who's In For Opening Day?

Post by rogman »

I'm guessing Thursday's off the table, so looking at Friday pass holder/IKON open, but K may yet surprise us. Thursday it starts to warm up about mid-day and then the guns will be off for at least through the weekend. However, before that some good temps and humidity prevail: they should be able to get open. Who's in? Doria and I will be heading up today or tomorrow.

(And Killington, don't forget to reset the ski day counter to 0 on the scanners!).

actually they are ...

Hooray! The Beast will officially be kicking off the 2023-24 winter season Friday, November 3 at 10:00 a.m. with a passholder appreciation day! After opening day, the K-1 Express Gondola will spin from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. (last ride up at 3:00 p.m.) and North Ridge Quad will spin from 9:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. every day. We’ll use the Peak Walkway to get to and from the North Ridge Area for skiing and snowboarding – yes walking is required. All skiers and riders will download the K-1 Gondola at the end of the day.  Skiing and snowboarding will be on advanced terrain only, with a Woodward Mountain Park in the North Ridge area on Reason.

admittedly that had me thinking as well.

They still lose to MSS, after losing to Sunday River last year. Not very beastly.

They still use it in their snow report every day. They used to be the first to open east of the rockies, and now they're only the first to open in Vermont.

MSS will be closed Monday, giving them the title for the shortest season in the East, along with Ski Ward, Sunday River when they finally open, and anyone else for a while for that matter.

who cares. has your manhood been challenged. they're a 700' ski area in canada. k will still be first in the eastern us. and really if you have such sunday river and mss envy, then maybe you should ski there.
