a fish to fry 9-11 shift. cloudy, breezy w some fog. actually felt a bit chilly w the breeze at the top of the canyon quad.
very nice groom on downdraft. skied great. most of my laps there. so maybe their plan is to groom dipper and draft on alternate days w an occasional groom of LEF.
upper cascade was still firm when we hit it. dipper could also use more softening. friend reported that the LEF bumps were still hard. if/when the sun comes out, should be quite good. reason>UEF good. lower rime on life support. the GN/lower ridge wraparound is done. all of bunny is now closed w a rope across GN, so no easy way down.

Re: tuesday 4/22 report
If they open the stairs those intermediates that are willing could ski NR and walk out. Just need a bootpack path on DD headwall.
*Edit... yeah, that's not gonna work.

Re: tuesday 4/22 report
Sad day for us to end our season so early … if East Fall gets groomed, maybe we could extend, but totally do not expect or wish for that - with Spring being moved to Canyon, East Fall is great for the soft bumps that develop - just not in our wheelhouse anymore! Definitely feels weird to end this early - we hope to be around for the remainder of the season to cheer everyone on - even that’s weird - no UBar! Have fun everyone

Re: tuesday 4/22 report
sorry it ended so early for you guys. definitely a different vibe with late season in the canyon. skiing on LEF and the DDs a lot different than the supe pod. overall steeper than supe and no lark or bitter. folks can ski upper dipper & UEF but there's no easier way down. there will be a "scene" in the bays but gonna miss the ubar & access rd.MrsG wrote: ↑Apr 22nd, '25, 18:56 Sad day for us to end our season so early … if East Fall gets groomed, maybe we could extend, but totally do not expect or wish for that - with Spring being moved to Canyon, East Fall is great for the soft bumps that develop - just not in our wheelhouse anymore! at this point really tough to judge how long this will go. don't see it going past may 18 - too many moving parts, but they surprised me last season.

Waited until 10. Fog still up top.
Downdraft seemed groomed and better.
DD a little firm.
LEF nicer. Bumps were awesome.
Did not see anyone, back to bay one around noon for lunch at the bus.
Back out at 1 for some sun like Monday.
Everything turned into major spring with some sticky spots. Still liking downdraft.
Rime looks like it might be done soon. Called it at 3.
Sorry to Mrs G on an early departure.

Re: tuesday 4/22 report
Afternoon Report. Great spring day. 130 to closing bell. Sunny then partly cloudy.
Yep. Way different this year. Butt, K will K pull this off. Worried about Ya Hoos (almost got taken out second run by someone passing me Double Dip rope line though not very crowded).
ROTD (but can't really do it) Upper Cascade and Lower Double Dip. Upper Cascade perfect corn with bumps if u wanted them all session long. Looked like not much traffic on it once it got soft. Lower Double Dip was the best down low with right, left, or middle all different butt all very good.
Lower D Draft also excellent.
WROTD LEF. Most of it was piles of something like mush. Men's tee right was good up top then transitioned into the sliding route (to avoid the middle) down. Some redemption on left ridge rest of way down.
Reason OK (sparse). LEF also mush. Rime better but fading away.
Makes Supe look easy!
Upper Double Dip park busy. Chair line still skiable.
Lower Catwalk [edited, from Cascade] decent side trip.

Sorry to hear you're done, MrsG. I was thinking how awesome it is to finish the season on the steps.
Dipper Rope Line was fantastic yesterday. Let's see what today brings.
