New Tunes

One thing a long drive (like my round trip to Baltimore last week) is good for is catching up on new music, or at least catching up on CDs I hadn't heard yet even if they're not so new. Loaded up the changer with quite a mix:

Springsteen - Devils and Dust (some of the songs sound like early Dylan)
Santana - All That I Am (Another winner!)
Stevie Wonder - A Time 2 Love (It's good, but after 10 years with nothing new, should've been better)
Sheryl Crow - Wildflower (Nice!)
Eric Clapton - Back Home (Good, not great by any means)
Neil Young - Prairie Wind (Neil sounds like he did in the old days, except the voice cracks noticeably now from time to time)
Nickelback - All the Right Reasons (Like some, dislike some)

Good stuff for a long trip.

It's those round silvery things people used to buy so musicians could fly around in Gulfstream V's. That was pre-Napster and BitTorrent.

CDs are still really useful as coasters though most people now prefer to use DVD-ROMs they screwed up while ripping DVDs from Netflix.

bittorrent is the bomb. get yourself a bittorrent client, and go to bt.etree.org, dimeadozen.org, bootcity.org, the traders den, and purelivegigs.com

its the way to go for legal legit live shows. enjoy...

also i have over 1250 cds worth of downloaded shows over the years

I like everything from classical to country, except for opera. I can listen to the Stones one minute and Beethoven the next.

I agree that CDs are becoming old technology.

IMHO, all new CD players should have the ability to play mp3s as well... I was bummed when I discovered that my 04 Burban's radio didn't have that capability...

My '03 Mazda has a 6 cd changer which I thought was awesome until I got my ipod. Now 6 cd's aren't enough. I just wish I had a direct connect becasue the FM thing can sometimes be a pain.

I dumped Sirius.. now I have XM. I'm pretty happy about it, though I miss Breuer.

Why'd you switch? Not only are you missing Breuer, you're gonna miss Howard Stern.
