MGR has signed a lease with Hoppin’ Moose Brew Pub of Rutland to operate our restaurant. He is working out the details of whether he will brew a small amount of his beer in the restaurant but he will be bringing up to 10 different lines of their Rutland Beer Works product up to Killington along with a simple but quality selection of food. We will be sharing his menu and more details as he moves ahead. He hopes to open in mid-December.

I've had their Kettle on a Stump, Head Doctor and Better Dayz IPAs. All are decent. I liked their amber lager that was on tap at Lookout 2 or 3 seasons ago. They did a series called Barbarian that was their best yet.
If they mix their better beers with killer pizza, they should do well. Don't scrimp on topping quality or quantity!

Nice place in Rutland, can't believe they are going to have 10 beers on tap one or two of the popular beers are usually sold out in Rutland.

They need to put a sign out on the access road. Most people don't even know there is a restaurant in MG.

As of noon Monday, the place was empty, quiet, and had a decidedly "not ready to open" look to it. The old Cappucino's name was half scraped off the door, no tap handles on the tap line, and a fermenter tank sat unattached in front of the bar. There's a help wanted sign on the door.

There were people in there yesterday (customers)

Opening day was Thursday at 4:00 pm, and re-opened Fri/Sat noon to 10:00 pm, and Sunday, noon to 5:00 PM. Stopped in Thursday for opening and had some really good beers - not all taps were running yet, but those that were, were good - Rutland Red was MrGs favorite. I really liked the stout. We split a burger early which was good, but did hear from one oher that their burger was not hot - guess they need to get things figured out in the kitchen. Also stopped in Friday for a brewski on the way home from being out!!! Appears all beers are $6.00 with different size glasses depending on the alchohol content. They serve wine, but did not see any other bottled alcohol. Give it a try

Beer is good, burgers are good. No renovations to the place. The brewery in the woods has better ambiance but lacks real food. In my opinion these places would do better if the had a menu like long trail. Lawson's which just opened would also do much better with a better menu. Each place has a different type of quality beer worth a stop.

Because the food is so spectacular at Long Trail. The food and beer coming out of that place has been on a downhill slide for the past 5+ years.biged wrote:Beer is good, burgers are good.
