This is a unique opportunity for these aspiring athletes to practice on World Cup-caliber terrain. After that, we'll resurface the course and open it to the public on December 8."

What about pass holders? We pay a premium for crap!!! Screw those privliged little bastards.
This thread is for complaining about “Howdy Beast Fans”. We complain about that on the (Occasional) Expansion Thread. Is it really that hard to sort your whining into the appropriate category? <<sigh>>

It seems as if they have ditched the "Howdy" , at least while a national and international audience is watching. Still giving a crappy conditions report . . . I'm sure once that is over we'll be subjected to the "Howdy" again.

I think the thing that is frustrating about the report is that there's lots of operational information as to what is open and closed for facilities but not a lot of information about the SNOW.

What is getting snowmaking? Where are they headed next? Etc.

Vail took a lot of sh*t for poor snow reports but they've take a huge U-Turn and are very informative, at least at Stowe. Okemo's has been hit or miss and contains a bunch of "advertising" currently.

Aside from the "Howdy . . . " focus of this thread, some info from today's report:

Amazes me that they take credit for Escapade and Bear Trax as Open - Yeah, all the way down to the Home Run schlog.

Showing FIS as Closed? It was Open yesterday.

Also a dire warning about poaching closed trails with an immediate loss of skiing / riding priveleges. I did hear that a bunch of passes were pulled yesterday.

Good.
2014 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift shouldn't be."
2019 - "A South Ridge trail is Pipe Dream. A South Ridge lift (operating midweek) shouldn't be."
2023 - Killington announces that the South Ridge lift will run five days a week.
2024 - Killington lied.

Again, I have to laugh at the report today. Showing Cascade as Open. I believe it is open for about 30 yards from Great Northern, under the gondi, all the way down to Home Run !

Riding up the gondi yesterday, I saw some Asian herbs on that section of it having trouble in the "fresh" snow. I skied down to North Ridge and halfway up the chair I saw them finally coming across Great Northern. I then also laughed and wondered if K would add Cascade as Open to the report [similar to Escapade and Bear Trax].

Ran into a guy I've seen before at the base who just had his pass pulled for two weeks poaching Double Dipper.

Really can't understand why K is not opening some of these trails that I know a lot of people are skiing/riding on; in the past they've opened trails with much less cover.
