Speaking of KMS/KSC at Ramshead. . . .
. . . How come most of their coaches do not wear helmets?
Bad example.

The helmet impairs their ability to easily communicate with students. The instructors complained about it when told they were to wear head protection.

Pure BS . . . Modern helmets have perfectly adequate aural features . . .Dr. NO wrote:The helmet impairs their ability to easily communicate with students. The instructors complained about it when told they were to wear head protection.
So let me try to understand this. The coaches can't hear or talk properly with a helmet on . . .hmmm So how does the student hear anything wearing one?? Maybe the kids should stop wearing them so they can communicate better . . .

I grew up ski race training without a helmet and I turned out just fine.

Maybe that's why none of these kids ever make the national team??? Problem solved - get rid of the helmets.ski wrote:Pure BS . . . Re: Speaking of KMS/KSC at Ramshead. . . .
It's a matter of personal preference. If it is about hearing better, so be it. I rarely wear a helmet, but will do so when bitterly cold or feel like the day will involve more than average risk activity for me. Also don't wear a helmet on my motorcycle unless on the highway at speed. My choice.
I do see an occasional patroller without a helmet. Helmets are mandatory for customers when taking a lesson and you are under 18. Staff also required to wear when working with customers under 18. I am assuming that KMS/KSC are not K employees, but patrollers seem to fall under the K jurisdiction. Choice is good.
