Re: 5.7 Million Capital Expenditures for 2018

HS man you keep moving the goal posts. Don't believe the "Bikes are better now! They make it safe! Trust us!!!" meme. A good, well set up DH race bike from 2002 is better on DH trails than the average 5" trail bike or 6" enduro bike. Okay, a good, well set up race DH bike is bett...

Re: 5.7 Million Capital Expenditures for 2018

And anyone with a good WELL SET UP downhill bike from 2002 and some skills would smoke you at Killington. Thanks for playing. Obviously what we need here is a race between HS on his well set up downhill bike from 2002 and MH on his Giant Reign down Goat Skull. I'm giving 2 to 1 odds that HS can't c...

Yeah I think you don't really know what you're talking about, and that's okay.

Re: 5.7 Million Capital Expenditures for 2018

Nah, I'm still not buying this. Blah blah blah... That's okay, you don't have to buy it. Not sure why you're so stuck on the tires, though. You can take any modern enduro bike and for about $150 put whatever fancy DH tires you want on it. That doesn't seem like much of a bar to access. I mean the p...

Don't believe the "Bikes are better now! They make it safe! Trust us!!!" meme. A good, well set up DH race bike from 2002 is better on DH trails than the average 5" trail bike or 6" enduro bike. Sure, bikes are somewhat better. But the biggest safety issue is that the average tr...

Re: As baby boomers leave the ski slopes....

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a millenial, I own my own home, and a ski condo. That said... Let's ask all the millenials on the board how big is your bed? How big is your house? ...If you feel you have less money to ski, what size bed do you sleep in? How many square feet per person is...

Re: As baby boomers leave the ski slopes....

I think what we are seeing is that the millennial generation is experiencing a lower standard of living than the previous generation because of inflated housing prices, crazy student loans, and an ecomony in which only upper middle class salaries are seeing any growth. In short, Millennials are too ...

Re: Season Pass pricing explained

More mountain biking trails and other summer excitement. Mike spent quite a bit of time explaining why their capital has gone to the "non-sexy" stuff for winter, i.e. snowmaking, over the past few years. Are they doing more mountain biking trail expansion in summer of 2017? Any word on wh...

Re: Season Pass pricing explained

There are many mom and dads out there eating peanut butter sandwiches just to be able to take their kids skiing. A hundred bucks is a big deal. Personally I'd rather have the peanut butter eating family on the hill that saved for their dream than fill it with people with this attitude. I feel for p...

Re: Season Pass pricing explained

Mike seems right on some key points. As blackout pass holders, my housemates and I would typically buy a few k-tickets each year to supplement the floater days. The blackout pass also did nothing to decrease crowds on busy days. Most people I know with blackout passes were up during the busy holiday...
