If you ski Killington check local shops web sites or store prices. I have spent the last hour checking Al's, Back Country, Untracked and a host of others. I did not find a cheaper price than we offer. I would expect that to be true for this years and last years equipment at most Killington shops. Th...

On the comment about a tow (tee bar/ rope/ etc.) to the peak. The last management said it needed to be a lift. The reason for needing a lift is if a beginner could not ride the tow (steepness of terrain) how would they get to the top gondola station and down the mountain. They were making a plan to ...

Do not go off Coopers. Most all routes of Coopers end up with a hike - there is much better ways. Find someone who is willing to show you the way. It will save a lot of time and hassle.

The power is out at the Basin, I'm sitting home waiting for its return. A whole day in the dark and cold was enough for me - fun most of the day but it grew old late in the day.

Foam works and is comfortable when done correctly. Never use foam to fill too big of a boot but use foam to make a narrow boot fit everywhere. Ray is considered one of the very best foamers anywhere. Conformable and Strolz tell me he may be the best. I know I have a vested interest but I totally bel...

I did not mean to be to optimistic yesterday

Jan 5th, 44 degrees, foggy and cloudy. – Today was too warm, too foggy with limited visibility on the upper ¼ of Killington peak. Then comes the other side, the snow was spectacular. It was a wet spring like surface with 40-degree temperatures – total hero snow. The weather forecast is changing a bi...

If you go north of the airport to ski Snowbasin you should ski a day at Powder Mountain. 5500 acres half of that is cat access only - it is a great mountain.

I guess I will put my two cents in. If a shop bends your brakes they are altering your binding system - big no-no. They would be in violation of their indemnification policy. If it is close they may tweak them if there is no visible sign (not a legal action). The big issue is changing them to a poin...

If you are looking for specific upper end equipment, you will find better prices on the Killington access road (like 50% off last seasons equipement and clothing). I do go to the show and compare prices. I also get to see a lot of ski people, it is a fun evening.
