Doesn't Elan make some other companies skis or something? Or own another ski company?

The earlier dimensions were converted from inches which was what the seller measured and gave me for information. That's why I said approximately, since I didn't think the seller was very accurate. Strange, since the dimensions are printed right on the ski. Guess he didn't even notice.

So the later dimensions I gave (on the beer skis post) are from right off the ski:

106/69/97 17M radius

Elan is owned by Skimar and has their only factory in Begunje, Slovenia. They are not owned by any other ski manufacturer, but make skis for other companies, but the exact number or models are not widely published. I am told Nordica skis are made in Slovenia.

Nordica skis are owned by K2, who also owns Volkl, and Marker. Elan built their new "Fusion Integration Technology" in cooperation with Marker. Since Elan is in bed with K2, I assume that they could make skis for them from any of the latter mentioned brands. Tecnica and Dolomite are also in partnership with Elan.

Any skis that have "Made in Slovenia" are made by Elan.

Who owns who is very confusing. As far as I know, this is the scorecard to date:

Elan is owned by Skimar, who is owned by the Slovenian Governement.

K2 Holdings Corp owns Volkl, K2 and Marker....which is a different company than 'K2'. K2 Skis is K2, K2 Holdings also owns Rawlings, Shakespeare (fishing), Marmot. K2 Holdings was formerly known as Anthony Industries.

Tecnica Group owns Tecnica, Nordica, Dolomite & Rollerblade, as well as some interest in distribution of Elan.

Amer Group owns Atomic, Salomon, Volant, Dynamic, Wilson, Suunto.

Tyrolia has Head as well as a very vested interest in Elan and Fischer.

Blizzard is owned by IQ-Sport GmbH.

Quicksilver owns Rossignol, Lange, and Dynastar

Fischer is owned by the family Fischer.

Stöckli is still owned by Herr Stöckli.

Head, along w/ Tyrolia and Mares, is owned by HEAD NV, a public company based in Rotterdam, Netherlands (NYSE:HED).

scott was selling bikes in the early to mid 90's as well. they had one of the first suspension forks on the market...

If i recall i believe there were some patent violations on some of there dually models so you might not of seen any of the good stuff marketed in the US.
