. . . just took a ride north on Route 91 to Greenfield and the bridge work is complete . . . all the construction gear, barrells, cones, et al are gone . . . unfortunately, the southbound lanes seem to have some work going on . . . the southbound bridge is finished, but there is some work going on just after the Rt. 2 exit . . . looks like it could be finished for the returning Thanksgiving traffic . . .

True Doc, but at least that is two lanes to two shifted lanes, NOT two lanes down to one . . . hopefully, all those using Route 91 will have a less stressful ride this season . . . :)
According to the Mass DOT, the Greenfield mess is 90% complete a week ago, still on schedule.
All the lane shifts between West Springfield up thru Holyoke & Northhampton are for bridge deck repairs, they started in July and was 65% complete a week ago. I bet it is 100% done by xmas break.

They started and FINISHED the repairs on the CT river long ago. Fastest I have seen them do anything. the Holyoke, Northampton work is going pretty fast, but still a major tie up for traffic. This Sunday may be a joy driving home. Hopefully it will be done soon, especially with the mild weather we have had.
Great news about Greenfield. The way that thing was going I figured it would be another year.. Thanks MrsG.

Thanks Mrs G for saving 12 minutes off my ride back each sunday night!
I'll scope it out this friday night...
12 minutes in your dreams! I've spent 30-40 minutes crawling thru there. Thanks Mrs. G things are getting better by the minute!
That was two lanes and a parade of cars coming up the entrance ramp trying to squeeze into 1 lane.

dude, it was 12 min. to go around that stuff..not thru it..
Off 91 at exit 28, then the back way.
We usually just skip 91 and going through that area in general.......NY Thruway straight up to Ft Ann, and then a bunch of back roads, and we are there in under 5 hrs from central NJ. Makes for a far nicer ride as well.....almost no one around for the whole ride.

I hope you didn't sit in that more then once....easy to get around it.
I can't recall ever really sitting in that mess. I did in the summer a couple of times. My real issue is Interstate 95! Stamford to New Haven can take 1.5 hours on a friday afternoon! It should only take about 35-40 minutes! Anyone have any suggestions for that?

I usually take the merrit. The merrit can suck too. Heading north on 8 to 84 is an idea. but I need to get to BPT to go N on 8. 7 is too slow. 684 is a bit out of the way. I usually wait until 7 or 8 when the traffic clears up. Or leave at 3:00pm. 3-7, 95 and the merrit are sh*t shows!
