MOUNT BLOW REPORT

Post by Vinny Vincenzo »

Complete and total anarchy. Gale force winds closed all the main face lifts except Sundance. Whoopie. Sundance, Nitro, and Sunbrook Quad were the only lifts open. The place was mobbed. The lift line wait was 45 minutes to an hour at Sundance and worse at Nitro. Snow was as hard as a rock. Talked to some people who drove for hours to get there. Had to tell them it takes me 75 minutes. Poor slobs. The place was a complete nightmare. Did one run and packed it in. Kmart tomorrow.

I guess you didn't ski in the afternoon. Morning - afternoon were two completely different days. Afternoon was sweeet.
Didn't run into any crowded trails at all.
Needles' head wall was sweet this morning.
Only problem we ran into was after doing Needles, only the North Brook quad was opened. Skiship was moving but not allowing any peeps on. Needles lift was not running. Waited 15 minutes on the line. That was the only bad part of the day.
But the rest....... all good.

skiied mt snow on friday. It was great bluebird day. no crowds. a little cold though. and windy. I must say I got a little bored with the mountain though.

saturday at K was OK. I only skied the morning though. I was saving up for today at da'bush.

It (sugarbush) was heavenly. Unlimited visibility. no wind. Perfect day. Limited crowd. There were herbs there too. Not as many as K though.

Not too many people at K either on Sunday. I think most of the people that were there for the week headed home early on Sunday because they heard about the storm coming in from the south. I skied till last chair and we headed home around 6 PM and made it home by 11:30 despite the fact that I had to drive much slower when the snow got heavy from exit 19 to Exit 16. I let Skidork take over after that and wouldn't you know it, the snow precipitation got less at that point. :)

Now that we will probably no longer be able to ride Mt. Snow on our Killington pass next year....

Do you think it is worth at least getting down there for last time on the All- EAST???

Only if you were never there before. The North Face has some decent runs and DrJeff might be able to tell you about some worthwhile tree runs.

I might consider a spring trip to Sunday river or Sugarloaf since I ski those so rarely.

Mt Snow? Been there done that enough.

Unless you are really bored with the stuff at K it's not worth the drive south to ski less steep terrain with less snow.
