The BMMC will take place as usual at Bear mountain - the campgrounds will be below OL. The K-zone campground can be identified by the K-zone zign. Do stop by and introduce yourself.yemntftb wrote:Sounds like you've got it right...fat angel (delicious) - where is this bbq going down?Cuervo1.8k wrote:Put me down for:

Two options..bring up xtra and sell it, or leave it on the back of the pick up, walk away, and write it off as donations!!..yup, that happened before:)Mister Moose wrote:Mostly correct. The most expensive hay is a very controlled mixture of the right grasses, dried to the right moisture content, with no mold or dust, and goes to finicky horse owners. Less expensive hay goes to less finicky horses and then cows.Token_Boarder wrote:
Hey and straw comes in different grades. I believe, there is the best grade that is feed to live stock, a middle grade that is used for bedding, and a low grade that is used for construction (i.e. erosion control). The main difference is did it get bailed and stored before getting soaked by r*in…I guess, mold and bacteria grows in the wet bails. I think you can get the low grade bails for about $3.00 each.
Anyway, I am not an Aggy (but I dated one in high school). I would ask around and make sure they know what you are looking for and how you plan to use it.
I don't think anyone uses hay for bedding, except for fairs and Christmas manger decorations.
Mulch grade gets used for all the non eating functions.
Then there is wire or rope bales, canadian or US, round or square, timothy or alfalfa.
I have an 81 year old farmer friend and neighbor, so I can get some low grade stuff that is perfect for sitting on.
By the way, my brother and I hold the local record for most bales loaded on a pick-up in advance of an imminent thunderstorm: 72.
