I'm premier exec level with United (50k flown miles/year). I kind of like that the better seats in Economy Plus are blocked out for frequent flyers unless all the crap seats are filled. If the good seats are taken, I still get to select an exit row seat in advance. When a flight attendant says people can move to the better seats if they want to leave the plane and pay the upgrade fee, it pretty much kills off the argument.Ski-N-Sail wrote:They wanted to charge you to move to an exit row seat? Just got home around 12:30 this morning and I haven't had a chance to pull the pics off of my camera yet. If I have any good shots I will post them.
i was in the middle seat in the back row. desperate to annoy my neighbors as little as possible, I sat straight and read a book, the whole flight, with my elbows pressed into my side..
thank god it was a good book, or it would have been a long flight.
worse of all, there was an exit row seat available, but they wanted $50 to put me in it. eff united. I wish I had flown the jetblue redeye..

and because of your 50k entitlement, 4 people are miserable - me, the people to my left and right, and the person in front of me, who can't put his seat back because my knees are pressed firmly into his back.Geoff wrote:I'm premier exec level with United (50k flown miles/year). I kind of like...
eff them.. You can have them. I'll take Jetblue, where I get treated right, every time.

SkiKees8- Aspen Info
Hey,
There are plenty of jobs in Aspen. If you can wait tables and smile at rich people you can also make good money. Housing is not too big of a problem either. The town has tons of employee housing options. Just dont show up in December as the world order is set by then. I got their in October and got a job at the Little Nell hotel as a valet. Hourly was enought to pay the rent barely but the tips were great and I used the health insurance several times. I even left with a few g's in my 401k. Rent was $650 in the employee housing at Burlingame to split a 2 bd. You can de better. When I left I was living slopeside in a condo for $750 a month with a hot tub and pool. That took some networking but those kind of things are out there. All in all rent is less that it will be in Boston. You don't even need a car there but it is nice to have. PM me I am happy to give you the details.
In short- go for it. Don't lets the glitz and glamor of the place hold you back it is the cash that flows there that allows a ski bum to ski 115 days a year, save some $$ and eat really good food 5 days a week.
Do not go to Vail. It is like being stuck in the mall.
