BMMC Fans: Potential SNE Mogul Competition

Post by AlpineZone »

As a result of the latest Ski Sundown AlpineZone Ski Area Challenge, we may be able to encourage the mountain to hold a mogul competition this season. If this comes to pass, this will likely be the only amateur mogul competition in Southern New England that I know of. This is sort of a grass roots campaign to get the mountain to consider the event. Please Email Chris Sullivan and/or Jarrod Moss at Ski Sundown, CT to demonstrate your interest:

Jarrod: jarrod@skisundown.com
Chris: chris@skisundown.com

There's certainly no terrain at Sundown like Outer Limits, but the mountain is dedicated to seeding bumps each season and does a nice job with them. With enough support, we can perhaps get a BMMC-like event, albeit on a much smaller scale, set up for Southern New England bumpers this season!

Greg, can you give us an idea as to the possible date of this mogul event? My son probably would like to do the competition but I need to know if it will interfere with any other competition he may be entering.

There is no event as of yet. This is just something that was suggested and they're considering it provided they detect there is enough interest. Therefore, it's important for anyone interested to Email Jarrod or Chris.

Talk about a poser. Beginner skier starts a website to be hip amogst the life long skier crowd. Greg, don't hate those who have skiied all their lives.

p.s. Has the ski shop moved your bindings back now since you're an intermediate now?

Maybe we should have a ski-off... ;)

And maybe if I get you late in the day on some bumps, this intermediate can take you:

Gosh Greggie, you've been busy using your Google search.

What bothed you most? The reference to your intermediate skills or you going bald before you put on your first pair of skis?

Yeah, pretty pathetic, eh? Almost as pathetic as someone that has "skied all his life", yet still can't last all day, nor ski bumps very well.

Neither, really. Just wanted to confirm that you're just another Internet big mouth that is, like I suspected, all talk.

No, I can't ski bumps at ALL after arthroscopic surgery. During the straight ski era I was very much into bump skiing. Straight skis are what eventually evolved into the shaped ski you used as a middle-aged beginner.

And your absolutely right. By 2pm my legs get tired and I become a pathetic half-drunk backseat skier, despite having skiied since childhood. But I have so many skiing memories going back to the early 70's that I couldn't care less.

Speaking of which. . . when you see little kids and teenagers flying down the hill, do you feel anger towards your parents?

Talk about a poser. Beginner skier starts a boring website to be hip amongst the life long skier crowd, but in the end only appeals to other boring beginner skiers because his website is so BORING. [/quote]
