Killington Ministar & Superstar Ski School Prices!!!
Moderators: SkiDork, spanky, Bubba
I tried to call the Ski School and they were not in today.
I will follow up tomorrow.
Reservations said the prices were correct.
Maybe I missed it but I did not see a discount for having your own equipment?
I will push to speak to whom ever sets the rates.
I encourage others to also call, email etc...
This is unfair.

Thank God my boys are out of the program, the Killington Ski Club is a much better deal (if they are older 5+), we used to buy 2 10 packs 1 for mini and 1 for super for when we didn't have race training and didn't want to ski with them, plus my lil guy is heading towards the DARK SIDE and taking boarding lessons on Sunday, as I said I am glad we are not dependent on those programs anymore, back when we were, the season pass for minis was the way to go. I was talking with a friend of mine today who has a daughter still in the age for mini's and he is really bummed, I suggested that he and others find some "babysitters" that would take a few kids for a few hours, get 3 families pay $40 each and some teenager (someone you trust) could make out pretty well. There are dozens of girls in the K.S.C. that might be interested. Something to ponder, the Mtn. may have an issue with it but EFFEM, they're Effin us.

Oh well there's always next year at a new mountain
here's hoping that this one burns down

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

Hey, Everyone:
I don't understand what the problem is. Killington never promised you that they wouldn't be gouging you on product pricing this year, didn't they? Plus, they painted a couple of lifts and they plan on making lots of snow this year, which is great, and it must be true, because they've sorta mentioned it on this website and everything!
So give us -- oops, them -- I meant them -- a break, and let's just wait and see what happens, OK?
Personally, I think he's full of it.

Kiddie programs are not a problem if that is what K is doing. Grandkids don't ski that often yet anyway so a day or two at Pico or P-Okemo-N or even down in Mass, Butternut, Jimminey or Catamount, ain't too bad with them in tow. Plus they will probably get a week in January again at Sugarloaf because Sugarloaf actually WANTS to increase skiers and skiing business. Go figure, a ski area that promotes skiing.

Mistake after Mistake
The new owners must be anticipating a great snow year. If it's marginal or bad everything that has been done is going to kill profits and we will see no improvements next year.

Unless you consider losing the Snowshed and Rams Head parking lots to poorly planned real estate (in my opinion at least) to be a benefit...you're not going to see much in improvements either way I think.....biged wrote:The new owners must be anticipating a great snow year. the only problem with turning killington into a mountain for people who don't care about money is that they all fly into burlington and go to stowe already. hard to see the logic to be honest.
didn't a private equity firm fail miserably buying haystack and attempting to turn it into a private club? whatever happened with that?

It's still ongoing, nothing has really happened, but it hasn't completely failed yet, and I believe they do actually have a few potential buyers for the real estate they were going to build.ski the trees wrote:didn't a private equity firm fail miserably buying haystack and attempting to turn it into a private club? whatever happened with that?

Re: Mistake after Mistake
I seriously doubt they're going to have permits in hand to build such a thing next year. Furthermore I doubt they have the capital lined up, given the current state of the mountain and the shaky mortgage market, I can't imagine investors are psyched to throw money down for the new village. Also I doubt that there are people willing to buy expensive houses in the new village at "K-mart". People want nice houses at places like Stowe, Stratton, and Okemo not at a run down zoo like Killingtonmillerm277 wrote:Unless you consider losing the Snowshed and Rams Head parking lots to poorly planned real estate (in my opinion at least) to be a benefit...you're not going to see much in improvements either way I think.....biged wrote:The new owners must be anticipating a great snow year. Help me out here: Why is it they were worried about tipping their "hat" to the competition? There's more buzz from flies on a corpse than anything out of this lackluster bunch. Seriously, when my friends ask me, "So whats going on up at Killington with the new owners?" What am I supposed to say? I could use some guidance here...
