I will be up this weekend with a friend... we plan to hike. I think I will be hiking up Killington, maybe on Sunday. I might take my board if there is enough snow on Rime and Reason.
But, with r*in on Thursady, I am concerned that the snow they are making will not be ready for riding.

I'm just here to say things like "bling bling", and "ant no t'ang"

On a side note, I cant tell you the level of excitement, its been a long summer with nothing but work ,this will make it all better.
if you're going up..........do not park in front of the ticket counter & make a scene in the process.
in the past they have been pretty cool, but respect everyone else. nobody is looking to "bust you" but don't wreck things for the K employees or fellow hikers
That's part of my question, where to park, how to get up.
I don't want to be obvious.
I just want to hike up and come down without causing a stink.
You mentioned that they haven't had a problem with it in the past, but we have new owners, I'm trying to avoid a confrontation.
Just want to have fun, and at the same time, not get anyone in trouble.

Someone on here already hiked up today, and found no problems... I dont think anyone is going to tell you you cant ski on their snow, but... Park in bay 1 in k1 parking lot, the easiest way to go is to hike up great northern, its a work road, which goes all the way to the Rime/Great Northern intersection which is just about the top of the snowmaking. A shorter hike thats not much harder is to take lower Bunny Buster up and then at the bottom of Mouse Trap take Chute then onto Great Northern. At that time i'd stay on Great Northern till the top, but otherwise you could hike up Upper East Fall, but thats pretty steep, and doesn't save much time compared to Great Northern and I think the workroad of Great Northern is a lot easier...richm20 wrote:That's part of my question, where to park, how to get up.

I will hopefully be up there soon doing the 2nd route I mentioned...

Bunny Buster to Racers Edge is a good route to the base of the triple since they may be making snow on lower GN by the Weekend. Hiking under the guns isn't fun. Stay to the side, and try not to post hole. I'll probably hike up there sometime this weekend, probably for turns, but maybe just to put eyes on...skiingsnow wrote:Someone on here already hiked up today, and found no problems... I was thinking about that route today... Its easier going terrain, and goes directly to where I want to be! I highly doubt they will be making any snow on lower great northern by the weekend... If they were going to expand this weekend, and not just stay on what they are doing, they will go to Upper East Fall, the rest of Rime, Great Northern from the top all the way to the the bottom of triple, and Upper Downdraft... Those are the next high elevation areas that need cover. They will probably run guns on those this weekend, and also make more snow on what thet have already made snow on. Its still suppost to be rainy Tuesday and Wednesday after this coming weekend, and be warm, then a snowstorm Wednesday Night into Thursday Night? ? ? ? ? We'll see! Both Weather.com and Accuweather have something going on here in that timeframe.rogman wrote:Bunny Buster to Racers Edge is a good route to the base of the triple since they may be making snow on lower GN by the Weekend.
