The kids are dead beginner skiers- but are 5 and 6 and have extensive ice skating experience (skate/hockey lessons, etc), so I am hoping they will be able to progress fairly quickly. I have never even seen snowblades-- are they relatively cheap-- as in, will I be able to buy them along with the new skis and not have a noticeable extra bulge on credit card for perusing spouses to question?

for 5 or 6 it's prolly not worth it. They'd run you about $200

Several suggestions for Dynastar contact 10's (06-07) and Blizzard CMX 10 or 11's (06-07) due to relative ease of use at medium speeds-- probably still not slow enought for the kids though. Anyone ski these?

Thye buzzards are made by amear co the makers of atomic .they will hold like glue on the hard stuff. the dynastars (they replaces the omega 10's, nice snappy ski for some one that weighs under 180 lbs.) are a good choice
