Sunday River...
Looks like Sunday River is opening for the season later this week after their one day Halloween October opening. I guess I'll wander up for a day next weekend.
This Killington slow open really sucks. I guess it's time to get out my Chris Nyberg voodoo doll. One good stab for every lap at Someday Bigger.

I know you're dying to get out there. Watch you're speed as you drive up ;)Geoff wrote:Looks like Sunday River is opening for the season later this week after their one day Halloween October opening. I guess I'll wander up for a day next weekend.

I'm driving up Sat afternoon and will ski sunday. Geoff follow your own advice form last year. A few hours in the morning and then pick something else to do. Openign day really had decent coverage for the time of year. It will be decent over the weekend, but early season conditions are what it is and will be.
skiing is my addiction
anyone want to buy a condo in the southern Whites'?

Yep. After two hours of white ribbon of death, I get really bored even if it's not crowded. I'm going to try to show up for 8:00. I'll decide which day in a couple of days when the weather forecasts are more reliable.BobR wrote:I'm driving up Sat afternoon and will ski sunday. Geoff follow your own advice form last year. Thanks for the tip on 3 cans of food.

Sat will be crowded. A bunch of the Sr board members are getting together Sat.
I think sunday will be a bit more mellow, but still have folks cause many have Monday off for Vet's day. I made opening Sat last year it was not that bad. Was a crowd around 10.30 (big surpirise) by 11.30 most had gone home. More folks are going up to grab a run and party than ski alot.

I've been skiing Killington every November weekend since the early 1980's. I ski Killington on Thanksgiving Saturday every year. You can't possibly call Sunday River crowded.BobR wrote:Sat will be crowded. A bunch of the Sr board members are getting together Sat.

In my opinion, the "new" Killington completely sucks. It's complete sh*t that I had to walk up last Saturday. It's even more sh*t if they don't open this weekend.

Sunday River is in a better snow belt than Killington. I have been to Killington where is was r*ining, then drove to SundayRiver and it was snow, not r*in. You can't blame anybody for that. I would of gotten a season pass for SundayRiver, but who wants to drive 4 hours every weekend as opposed to the 3 to go to Killington.

Incorrect.. Killington is Higher Elevation and in a more favored area for snow.SuzyQ wrote:Sunday River is in a better snow belt than Killington. NO, I 'm speaking from a vacation experience that I once planned, where I started at Killington and got r*ined out, then went up to Sugarbush and it was all ICE, then drove all the way over to Sunday River and it was SNOW. I am telling you from my personal experience one winter. I 'm glad I'm from Boston, to drive 5 hours every weekend would blow.
